Added Mass: Weight transfer to pin

Great post, thanks! Don't forget side to side is important too. When we weighed our rig (340RL) wheel by wheel the off driver side (kitchen side) rear wheel was at the 3500 lb max. The door side front wheel weighed out at only 2500 lbs.

    Seeking WiFi recommendations

We use the Verizon Home Internet premium. Unless you go in an area with no phone service (Smokies, desert, etc.) we usually have 300 Mbps down and 20 Mbps up. It is $65 a month, unlimited data and not throttled. No equipment cost. A small box that fits in a window, no external antenna, no...

    Grey water tank overflow valve

The black and gray water plan for the 340RL does not show an overflow. I would imagine dumping black and gray water on the ground is against code. Contact service and ask for a "DWV Plan" for your unit.

Audio system upgrades - what have you done?

Not much room for a soundbar, we only have about 1.5" underneath the existing TV. I am thinking of something where the existing stereo is and sub woofer behind the recliners. I guess I could raise the TV up an inch....

    Disc Brakes

To answer the questions "Why are disc brakes so much better than standard drum brakes? what reasons would you advise me for ordering this upgrade when we purchase our 385FL?". This is a pretty good summary in my opinion. MAINTENANCE: Fewer moving parts. Compare the caliper with one moving...

    Solar/Inverter/Battery Build Thread - Delta 262RB

I am a little surprised you picked the 3000 instead of the 5000. You need to have a "Systems and lessons learned" discussion at one of our rallys (or just let me buy y'all supper and ask you an hour's worth of questions)! Thanks for posting your experiences!

RV riding nose high - help?

We have the 3500 Ram. We have an "Alternate Trailer Height" button that we push to lower the bed and inch or two. Keep 5" or so between the trailer and the bed rails. We have our hitch on the lowest setting and the trailer pin on the highest setting. It looks like your truck is lifted? Can you...

    New 340rl owner

We have a 340RL (2022), we got the 7K Morryde IS and we really like it. Less "chucking", no "bottoming out" on bumps (we had this on Interstate before we really loaded the rig), the trailer rolls over speed bumps better than our truck, more suspension travel and less failure points. They used...

Kitchen Project: Replace Insignia Range with Cooktop only + a Base Cabinet

So this is the way it should be wired? If we want to bypass this, what is the "Primary" or "Secondary" load? Maybe this is a separate topic? Thanks!

Balance your trailer tires (My experience)

Clarification. Disk brakes for the standard 7K axles have been offered as an option from the first units. The 8K axles and disks are a new offering.

Stock Lippert PinBox on 2022 340RL replacement

So far we have been happy with the stock pinbox. We haven't noticed a lot of jacking or a rough ride. We did get Morryde Independant Suspension within 4,000 miles of buying the rig. At the moment, I don't see an advantage to changing it. Eventually we may go to the Morryde polymer one for a...

    Solar and Generator power

A couple rules of thumb to think about: 1. On a good day, you get about 6 hours of your rated solar. So if you have 1KW of solar panels on your roof, on a good day you will get about 6 KWh of power. (Sun straight down on panels, no shade or clouds, panels clean) On a bad day, you may not get...

    Solar and Generator power

Don't forget the tax credit (30%) on solar this year and next. Having something you can expand (solar, batteries and inverted watts) without throwing away the original system is very important.

What towing tires have you upgraded to for better off road traction?

Thanks, currently in my running are the ones below. I keep leaning towards the Ridge Grapplers. There are SO many tires and I hate to put something on that I am going to hate for two or three years.... ;-) Michelin A/T 2 Nitto Ridge Grapplers Yokohama Geolander Firestone Transforce AT2

What towing tires have you upgraded to for better off road traction?

I am looking for something with a little better off road traction. My 2019 SRW Dodge 3500 4x4 currently has Firestone Transforce HT. Looks like I will get about 35K miles on them but they are horrible on wet grass. Luckly, I have 4x4! I would like to hear actual towing experience, off road...

Considering Replacing GD1620 2000w inverter with Victron MultiPlus II

Lots of help on this page, Jim Beletti is a great resource. The sizing file I was talking about is on the "Alliance RV Glamdockers" group "Files" section. If you can't get there, tell me what groups you are on and I can drop it into the files section for you. I did not want to go to 24 VDC...

Considering Replacing GD1620 2000w inverter with Victron MultiPlus II

I like your plan, this could be a long thread! Just to clarify, you are going to go with a 12 VDC system? If you are looking at growing, I would consider a 24 VDC system. You could add a second string of 200 Ah batteries in the future (and a second Multiplus II if you ever wanted to go above...

Does anyone know the model of the Airexcel furnace we have?

Jim, do you know if this is a "SUBURBAN RV FURNACES with FAN CONTROL MODULE BOARDS 12 VDC HEATING" or a "SUBURBAN RV FURNACES with TIME DELAY 12 VDC HEATING"? There are different troubleshooting trees for each of these models in the service manual.

Has anyone installed insulation above the 340RL pin box?

During our latest cold snap, my thermal camera showed the front closet floor, right above the pin box was very cold. I think this is the area on the bottom of the nose above the pin box. We also had some condensation in this area drip down through the pin box and the side of the nose cone. Has...

    36V11 Suspension Upgrade

We think it was worth the expense. We plan on boondocking a lot but I never thought it would payoff on the roads and interstates too! We planned to get it when we bought the rig. We got the install done at the Elkhart Morryde factory.

    36V11 Suspension Upgrade

We got the Moryde Independant Suspension (IS) on our 2022 340RL. We can tell a difference in towing. The trailer does not "Bottom out" now like it did before the IS while towing on rough highways (Interstate). Tire wear is very even.

    Bath skylight cover

Also, I have seen where people cut reflectix, put velcro on it and the skylight sides. When they want shade, they put the reflectix up. If they want the light, they pull it down. It also helps with heat gain/loss through the skylight.
