Purchased 2026 32RLS 5th wheel. Just put deposit on the tow vehicle, 2024 Ram 3500 Laramie Cummins 6.7L HO Night Edition with 6’4” bed. Assuming I need sliding hitch due to bed length. Prefer an easy remove hitch. Love to hear about your setups. What do I need/don’t need? Recommendations??

Jam1263, want is your pin weight?, max trailer weight.

I still have a Pullrite Autoslide ratered for 16k that I used in my 2017 RAM 2500. Puck system. Give it too you for a very good price, you would need the adapter plate, the one I have is for a 1622 king pin.

Let me know, can meet half,

Nice truck! Lots of variables but probably. 24 F350 SB , 6’9” bed, is our vehicle. With the B&W Companion slider and the pivot arms in the rear position we did not need to use the slide function. With them in the forward position we did need the slide function. I can’t recall the position of the pucks on the Ram relative to cab of the truck… and for some reason I thought they made a change to the position of the puck. But not sure it was rearward, wider stance, or something else. Anyhow, enjoy it all!!

Thank you for the offer! I’m working with the dealer. I negotiated a parts discount, hitch included.

B & W Companion Slider easy enough to remove and install? Bed covers work with hitch installed? Better to go with roll up Tonneau cover? I read specs and reviews but I find experiences from users/members to be more valuable. As always, appreciate your comments

Mechanically, it's easy to remove the B&W; pop off the head, rotate the cams lift it out. But it is heavy. I'm not the strongest guy in the world, but I'm in pretty good shape. I can do it by myself but it's a lot easier with two people.

Though I am not thrilled with my cover, Rough Country Retractable, it's been fine with both the B&W and the Gen Y. Prior to the CP4 failure on my truck, leading to our decision to go back to Ram when the redesign drops, I was going to move to the Peragon.
