I'm wondering how the sumo springs worked out on your trailer? Or, if you did something else? I'm very disappointed in the ride of my new Avenue 23ML. The base under the cabinets above the sink came loose, and we broke a shelf in the refrigerator with just a jar of peanut butter and a jar of salsa in it, on the drive home to Arizona from Iowa. I thought the CRE3000 would ride better than our old travel trailer, but it needs shocks or something to smooth the ride. Our interstate highways are a disgrace!!! We even bought a new truck to tow it with!
Plenty of video's on YouTube with Sumo Springs, and Alliance RV's. Everyone on Youtube seems to think they make quite a bit of difference....Are Sumo Spring worth the money? Don’t these springs make the RV too stiff?
Does Alliance or Lippert recommend any add on shock absorbers?I had Sumosprings on our 2022 Grand Design Reflection 337RLS. They did work well to dampen the bouncing in the trailer. Originally we
'd find stuff bounced around, drawers open, etc. The Sumosprings did do the job.
I wanted to install them on our new 2025 Alliance 23ML. I contacted Alliance via email to inquire if there would be warranty issues.
This was their emailed response:
"Regarding the Sumo springs, we aren't a fan. But you can install them. We know Lippert doesn't prefer them either. Like any aftermarket part, if something catastrophic happened, if the cause was something of ours within the warranty period, we would support you. From the experience of our Service/Warranty team Sumo springs tend to do more harm than good."
Just Googlin', not researching... https://www.lippert.com/heavy-duty-shock-mount-kit-various-sizes-hd-shock-mount-kitDoes Alliance or Lippert recommend any add on shock absorbers?
