Sumo Springs

I recently sent email to LCI who makes the frame. The reponse was. "Any modifcations from the factory set up voids the warrant from Lippert ( LCI )".

I had them on our Raptor. I thought they helped a good bit. I have seen the recent posts about frame flex and dont need anyone pointing fingers and trying to duck out of a repair. I dont want/anticipate any issues but willl have to wait a while and see how it runs without them. We are heading out on a 3 week trip including a tour at the factory this summer. I plan on asking Alliance directly while there. We have a 2024 40v13

Let’s see what other people are saying, my thought is they would be too rigid and would disturb items in the RV and maybe bend something. I’m installing new 6 leaf springs by the manufacturer.

Please report back after visiting the factory. I would expect the warranty to be voided with installation of Summo Springs, but that does not mean they are not useful. I have read quite a bit about their use. Nothing bad so far, so I’m curious as to what others have experienced after warranty out.

I'm wondering how the sumo springs worked out on your trailer? Or, if you did something else? I'm very disappointed in the ride of my new Avenue 23ML. The base under the cabinets above the sink came loose, and we broke a shelf in the refrigerator with just a jar of peanut butter and a jar of salsa in it, on the drive home to Arizona from Iowa. I thought the CRE3000 would ride better than our old travel trailer, but it needs shocks or something to smooth the ride. Our interstate highways are a disgrace!!! We even bought a new truck to tow it with!

I had Sumosprings on our 2022 Grand Design Reflection 337RLS. They did work well to dampen the bouncing in the trailer. Originally we
'd find stuff bounced around, drawers open, etc. The Sumosprings did do the job.
I wanted to install them on our new 2025 Alliance 23ML. I contacted Alliance via email to inquire if there would be warranty issues.
This was their emailed response:

"Regarding the Sumo springs, we aren't a fan. But you can install them. We know Lippert doesn't prefer them either. Like any aftermarket part, if something catastrophic happened, if the cause was something of ours within the warranty period, we would support you. From the experience of our Service/Warranty team Sumo springs tend to do more harm than good."

Does Alliance or Lippert recommend any add on shock absorbers?
