True Topper for Slideouts

We have a Avenue 23ML and wanted to get the opinions on those who have installed the True Topper on their slide out(s). We are thinking about installing one but wanted to hear from those who have, and their experiences so far. Also, was there any Alliance warranty issues with this installation? Installing the typical, standard slide out cover is about 1/2 the price (Lippert variety) but the reviews on quality and longevity are mixed. Thanks in advance for the information!

That's good to hear. I like the idea. I am also very interested. A little Leary of cutting off top edge of slide out. But it's good to hear a positive review from a known trusted source.

I have a question, after watching the video, what keeps the new topper from flapping in the breeze? I see it overhangs the ends some and am just wondering if there is something that prevents it from lifting up in the wind.

Hard to catch it in the video, but there are locking arms on each end of the side (so..2 per slide) that catch on the side flange when the slide comes in. These lock the topper down while the slide is in. I have been in 55mph wind gusts and I don't think the topper ever flapped up then back down on the slide.

You can kinda see the locking arm in this image. Watch video from this link (timed correctly) and you can see the side flange push the locking arm in...which pulls the topper down over the slide.

Thanks for the information. After reviewing other threads on this subject and watching videos, we are leaning towards getting the standard slide cover. The cover gives extra sun protection (we snowbird in Arizona) and I'm concerned about removing the upper flange as required for the TrueTopper install. As one commenter wrote, the flange is there for a purpose, likely for structural purposes for the slide, and I'm worried about causing some lasting damage down the road. I'm hoping Alliance will take a serious look at this modification and provide some feedback on its application.
