Hi - did you wind up using the rivets instead of screws? If so, how are they working?
We had Lippert Solera slide toppers installed at purchase by General RV. Worked fine until we had an issue last year camping in Maine. Kitchen slide topper ripped right out of the RV side and got mangled. Finally decided to replace it this weekend. Only 2 screws were in something solid. The rest just spin. The holes in the RV side bracket for the new Lippert Solera don't line up with the old holes and aren't hitting anything solid either.
Add insult to injury, I looked at the dining room slide topper for reference and it was pulling out of the RV exterior now. I was able to remove every screw using only my fingers and a screwdriver bit I think the only thing holding the bracket to the RV was the dollops of silicone behind the bracket at every screw.

We did use the rivets on a 12’ slideout awning on a previous travel trailer we had,,similar exterior wall construction,,,our trailer at that time was a Venture Sporttrek touring model 38’ tow behind,,,,,was recommended by that mfgr service dept. used large head “mushroom” pre slotted shaft rivets that provided a 3 or 4 point “ collapse. Don’t recall brand but they held for 6 years on our travel trailer over probably 10-12k miles w no adverse impacts,,,‘‘this forum has threads that discuss & id the recommended rivets,,,they have engineering data for the various sizes,,,also know that you tube has videos of the repair steps & products,,,,,there Are opinions on screw vs rivet solutions in this forums threads that have good points,,,other members may have input as well,,,,was not a difficult repair & worked very well for us cuz we were out of warranty,,,👍🌞🍀 good luck!
