New Owner with Questions

I just bought an Avenue 38DBL and I pick it up next Thursday. I watched the video on the Alliance website about this model 5th Wheel and they said it comes with a 400w solar panel and the front cap has automotive paint. Can anyone confirm these features? My salesman thought it was a 200w solar panel and didn't mention anything about the front cap. Thanks in advance.

Our unit came with a 320watt solar panel so they may have move up to 400watt on yhe 38dbl. As far as the front cap, I believe all the front caps are fiberglass with automotive paint.
Congrats and good luck,
Bruce

We bought a 2024 Paradigm new earlier this year. One of the appealing features was the painted front cap as we have a 2011 Landmark with that feature that still looks new. Disappointed to find during our first debugging that it is actually painted & decals. i feel it is deceptive marketing but technically true. It does have a painted front cap but not all graphics are painted. Used uv protection wax to deter fading. Might investigate some type of sealant.
im thinking there’s a good chance they do the same thing on their other models

With the Avenue being a step down from the Paradigm, I have no doubt that there are stickers on the cap. I'm trading in a Grand Design Reflection with stickers on the cap and they're so faded I contemplated taking them off before deciding to trade it in on the Alliance Avenue.

I’m not sure if it was an error, but Josh the RV Nerd just reviewed the 29RL and claimed it had a 320w panel. That’s the largest of the All-Access line.

Correct. I bought a 25 Avenue 29RL and the spec page says it has a 320w panel

I just ordered a 2025 29RL and Alliance told me it would be a 200w panel.

They really screwed up the communication here - I’ve heard 320w from several sources, including their own YouTube video.

Hi everyone new here to the forum. It seems there is a lot of confusion about this topic.
We just purchased a 2025 avenue 33RKS end of January. So far the camper is great with just a few minor issues.
When i was looking at his model, I was told by the dealer it was factory equiped with a 40 MPPT and a 400 watt panel.
Well when it arrived it had a 60 MPPT. I climbed up top but could not find any solor panel info that was visible. So I emailed Alliance with my model and vin#, and a list of questions about the solar system. Two days later i got a reply with ( it has a 320 watt panel). No other question where answered. So I climbed back up top, this time with a mirror so i could look at the label under the panel. Well it does have a 400 watt panel.
So if Alliance does't know the simple answers WHO DOES?

Sounds like you got the larger one. That is great. Probably just switched to the 400 watt panels.

Austin, Great you have 3 A/C units. I think they come from the factory with just 2 as I just picked up my 2025 32RLS yesterday and it has only 2. I asked the charge to add the third and they quoted me $2300. Said no thank you. Looked the 13.5BTU Furrion Chill on line and it was ~$600.
Hard to believe that they would charge that much labor. I did find out that Blue Compass labor is not hourly employees, they get paid by the job and minimum is 1/2 hr. I did have the camera system installed and the labor was $300. Total rip off!!

That $600.00 item has to be marked up. You have to add incidentals shop supplies etc , Then you add labor.
I can easily see $2,000.00 being the price.

Well, I guess i'm just cheap. $600 for a unit and installed is $2300? There is no way that there is that much shop supplies and labor. The unit is pre-wired and the hole in the roof is already there. On the generous side, say 2 hours installation time. Still no way near $2300.
I could probably install it myself! We shall see if we need the third or not nextr summer. If we do, I will get one and have my mobile tech install.

An old story that applies here.
"It took you 2 hours to install that unit. How can you charge me $1000.00 for 2 hours work."
The seasoned veteran mechanic Responds" It took me 30 years to learn how to install that unit in 2 hours"
Doing a job shade tree style with no: overhead, insurance, taxes, warranty, licensing or salary involved,
is a totally different equation than doing a job for profit.

....... The unit is pre-wired and the hole in the roof is already there.
What? You have a hole in the roof you can see form inside, but it is sealed on the outside? You confirmed with wiring is there too? Our 2023 340RL came with 3 AC unit as standard, we did not pay extra for the 3rd AC.
