Low battery indicator on shore power

Camping for the second time in our new rig. Connected to 30 amp shore power. Thermostat in the bedroom is blinking “LO“ and the battery indicator in the bathroom also indicates our 12 V battery is low. Our lights are flickering inside. We are plugged into power and everything that operates only on shore power is working fine. Any ideas? Internet research reveals that the “LO“ indicator happens when the 12 V battery is low.

I would start at the battery and look for loose connection at the terminals and all of the 12v Buss Bars. Also check your fuse/breaker panel.

You might check all of the electrical connections that you can access. Battery, Buss Bar, Pull Panel and check connections.

I found numerous loose 12 volt connections when we took delivery.

It wont take you much time, and the investment will pay dividends by eliminating electrical gremlins.

The strange thing is everything works well from mid morning to mid evening, then lights flicker, and battery appears to lose power?

IMHO, it would be rare to have 3 converters go bad in a row. The more logical explanation would be loose or mis wired connections on either side of the converter. (120 AC or 12 DC). This could be causing your converters to fail, it should have some built in protection against certain fail modes. It could also be a bad battery or even a condition of your set up.

Can’t really talk specific’s without more details. But it sure sounds like the battery isn’t getting replenished from the converter, Solar system or both thru out the day.

When you see your battery draining, check the 120V into the converter. Turn off the solar and test the voltage coming from the converter to the battery. 100% with @BryanValRox that 3 converters going is highly unlikely. Since the converters have been changed, the connections there should presumably be good. Converters are very basic hot neutral ground on the 120V side and hot neutral out. I would check the connections at the breaker and the breaker itself. If you have a temp scanner, shoot the panel to see if that breaker's temp is substantially different than the others and that might be telling.
