GFI Bathroom won’t reset? Help

They are 100% RV specific, due to not requiring an enclosed gang box like your home outlets do. Do not try to put a GFI that is meant for your home in your RV.

Here is one on Amazon

I think you are mistaken. That outlet represented in the link above must be mounted in a box or enclosure. The depth might be different than a residential box, but with those exposed terminals any other installation method would be unsafe, very unsafe. It would have to be a fully enclosed device to avoid mounting to a box which does not seem possible with its design. You’ll notice there are screws to attach to a box and screw holes to receive a face plate.

If there is a box, and it is deep enough to accept say a GE GFI from Lowe’s, as long as the voltage and amps are proper it could be used.

You're correct...that is the wrong item for sure. Here is one that is self contained, but it is not a GFI. Wonder if the GFI needs a box, and then the others that are protected by the GFI can be these self-enclosed...???

The loads/outlets downstream of the GFI would be protected and the self enclosed outlets would be fine to use all things be equal regarding voltage and amperage.

Now I’m confused?
is the Amazon link you sent me for the black gfi the one I should use in my paradigm? It looks like the one I just got replaced?
thanks
If it were me, I would use this one if the voltage and amps are aligned to the circuit being installed on and if it will be mounted in either a box or outdoor enclosure. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton...White-1-Pack-EGFW1-KW-R02-EGFW1-0KW/331483348

If the box that the current GFI is installed in is shallow, you can use something like this. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton..._-331483348-_-3-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a

Leviton, SquareD, Eaton all make great devices.

While RVIA has adopted the NEC as the "recommended" code for installation, there is no governing body requiring manufacturer's follow it..

That said, good practice to follow it with any modifications you perform, and as such, any electrical connection must be enclosed in a UL listed box and accessible. This gives you two options, buy the RV specific fully enclosed version that is VERY annoying to push in and pull out NM wires, or get a shallow old work back box and install any GFCI rated for the circuit amps and carry on. I find it more appealing to be able to replace items off the shelf at commonly found locations than waiting for parts to arrive.
