Floor flap trip hazard

Question regarding the floor flap in front of the couch on 3611 coach. Ours is all curled up because it hits the island toe space when closed. Wife is handicapped and breaks like a bag of pretzels if she hits the floor. I can’t have this trip hazard. I think I can flatten the flap with heat. Has anyone moved the island cabinet towards the stove or cut a slot in the tow kick to receive the floor flap, it is only 1/2”-3/4” needed ? Open to suggestions. TIA.

Good morning,,,a picture would help but I suggest your heat application with a temporary weighted “press” ,,or,,,,,feel perhaps rather than a notch may be easier to look at existing toe kick, see if you can pull the end portion that causes the curling, remove that & make It narrower If the flooring runs under your cabinet,,,,May also look at back to back Velcro under curled area if the heat press does not work & that doesn’t create a unsuitable trip hazard while slide is extended,,,or perhaps a short low profile rubber reduced surround narrow floor mat over curl & to the exiting toe kick ,,rather than trying to move the to move the island. I would think heat would be okay to flatten the flap, as a permanent fix it might be easier to cut a notch in the flap or cut the entire length of the flap. I can't remember if the flap has a special edge.

Could you just put a rug over it? Maybe we are alone in this, but my wife is out here layering rugs in ours.

In our 44V14, the dinette/fridge slide hits the peninsula when its closed and gives it a little curl when it first goes back out but the runner we put down along it flattens it out. Same for the couch slide that hits one corner on the fireplace.
