I am considering upgrading the suspension on our Delta 292RL, but I'm not sure what I'd like to do. At the very least I'd like to get rid of cheap shackle straps and plastic bushings, but I'm not sure what to do about the equalizer. On my first trailer (2018 Transcend 26RL) I replaced the stock equalizer with E-Z-Flex and heavy duty shackle straps and I can't honestly say that I never noticed a great difference when towing. I was doing routine bearing maintenance and I noticed the shackle straps looked loose, so I loosened the bolts and discovered that shackle straps were about to fail. So I stopped and ordered E-Z Flex with heavy duty shackle straps. For some reason I kept the good shackle straps in the bottom of my tool box, just in case and wow did they come in handy. This past fall we were traveling north on the Gasbe peninsula with friends and I noticed while following behind them, that their trailer (Imagine 2670) was listing to one side. So I had them pull over and we found that two of their shackle straps had failed. Luckily, I still had the ones left over from my Transcend and they were right size. So we did the repair right them and there.
So that whole incident in Gaspe scared me. So I've decided that at the very least, I'm going to upgrade the shackle straps and use brass bushings, but I'm not sure what if anything to do about the equalizer. When I did the equalizer replacement on my first trailer I considered the MoRryde CRE-3000 but it wouldn't fit. Your thoughts are appreciated!
