Door Latch Upgrade

Just wanted to share a little door upgrade that I did this weekend.
Added the Lippert Door Latch Extender.
It extends your ability to operate the door latch door by 14 inches.
Should cut down on the door/step dance that we all do.
It was a very easy mod, with the scariest part being drilling the 1 and 1/8 holes in your door with a hole saw. No worries though, a templet is provided to ensure you drill in the right place.
The door latch operates much easier.
I consider it money well spent and am very happy with it.
It does drive the need to deal with two keys or change the rest of your cylinders to match the new lock code.

I've always wanted to be able to add this to ours because the kids struggle to open the door from the outside but we have the all glass door so no chance for us. Glad you're enjoying the install!

How do you protect the side of the RV, when/if the door opens all the way?
Hi Jim,
The new latch only sticks out from the door about an inch.
I have never been happy with the friction hinge set up, so I use a stick on magnetic ball and socket door holder. Its deep enough to prevent contact and secures the door in the open position.
For transparency, I am still on a search for a better door holder, looking for something that is stick on and a little stronger magnet then what I have now. Just trying to avoid drilling any unnecessary holes in the coach. I have found one I am thinking about trying, but haven’t ordered it yet.
