Cameras?

Does anybody know if the Ford rear camera can be wired using the Alliance pre-wired access? I have an Alliance 370FB paired with a 2019 F350 SD. The goal is tying it into Ford display.

No, the Ford camera system will not work with the Alliance pre-wire. I had a '21 F250 and acquired the 36' camera/TPMS cable from Ford for it. Found out later that was not going to reach the back of the rig, a '22 310RL, so I never used the cable. As a result, we ended up getting a Haloview system and it works fine with the prewire. Just my two cents...Bill

Thanks! From what I was finding on the subject, it is a cable/hardware communication issue possibly? Meaning they use more wires to connect to the video display on the truck where others access traditional harness wiring or just go wireless. I guess I will table that project, since I don't want another screen in my cab. I will continue to old school tight areas, so I don't lose the skill I guess!

Copy. And good luck. If you find you want a Ford cable let me know...the one I have is in the box gathering dust in the garage...Bill

Love having both rear and side camera's. The side camera' are nice while driving but they really come in handy when backing up to a site, when you lose the ability to use your mirror. Here is a video I did for the Furrion system with side camera's.

I installed the Furrion Vision S 7 four camera set. I only used 3 of them, but will use the 4th on another trailer I have. I have some connectivity issues in slow or really heavy rain, but it still works plenty well going down the road. I find that at night the side cameras are not as useful to me when parking, but during the day they are all pretty good.
Hi purchased a used 2023 Paradigm 390MP has factory 3 camera system. Must be previous owner kept monitor. What monitor do I need to purchase?? Thanks

Bill...there is no factory camera system. Replacing the monitor should be easy, but you will need to pair it with each camera. You will need to look at one of the cameras to see if it is Haloview or Furrion (those are the 2 market leaders)

It’s a 3 camera Furrion system with a camera switch on control panel. Previous owner kept monitor because I can’t find it. He bought new, but traded it to a boat dealer who I purchased it from. He left a lot of extras, but no monitor.

I have a 3-camera Haloview system and replaced the two lighted yellow markers up front by our propane doors with two of the remote side cameras. They DO shake somewhat since it's aluminum siding somewhat attached to a backer board. But, having that view while driving, along with the camera out back is nice. And safer to keep an eye on things.
How do the original side marker light covers come off?

How does the round side light cover come off? Do you twist or pry from the bottom?
I didn't remove mine. I felt they were too low for the side cameras to really get a good view down the side of the RV. I just tapped into the side markers and move the camera up a bit along the molding/trim. Mine was really easy, as I just had to remove the propan tank and I had excellent access to the wiring.

I'm not a camera guy. In general I find them distracting. I'm fine going down the road with my mirrors.
However are the side cameras useful when backing into a site? I feel they would eliminate lots of blind spots when backing into a site.

One thing you might consider is when you're driving in pouring rain and other RV's or truckers are in front of you is just splashing water/mist into your windshield, etc.. Your outside mirrors become somewhat useless, as they are covered in water droplets. Now...the cameras on each side of the RV are pointing the other direction and wind is keeping water off them. You will have a great view down each side of your RV for making lane changes. I just went through this come out of LA toward Bakersfield 2 days ago.

I plan on using my cameras for all of the things mentioned. Backing and traveling down the road. Thanks for sharing your insight

I have yet to encounter any issues driving in the rain with my mirrors. However I'm on the east coast.
West coast driving and traffic conditions are certainly different than east coast. Rain can be the catalyst for lots of bad driving conditions.

Our 370FB should be here in late May and we too are looking at camera systems. Has anyone used or have knowledge of this company? Looks promising but not a lot of reviews available.

Here's a really expensive option. Buy a 2022 Chevy Silverado (or GMC Sierra) with the HD Surround Vision option. With a trailer plugged in, when you turn on the turn signal, the camera on that side turns on giving you a view down that side of the trailer. Not much help parking, but great for checking when changing lanes. Love the cameras on my Chevy! (Note: I do not have the Chevy trailer cameras. They are really expensive and are not wireless.)

I have a Furrion wireless camera installed on the rear of the RV and have never had a connectivity problem. I leave it on when moving. Helps with lane changes as well.

One really nice feature by Alliance is the camera power switch inside the RV. Some other manufacturers set up the camera so that power is there only when the clearance lights are on. Just have to remember to turn it on before traveling.
I love the Chevy camera set up for that same reason.
i run the exact same set up.
