Advice on using an inverter generator

Hello Delta owners! Has anyone had great experiences using a ~2000 watt generator with the Delta? I’m making my Christmas wish list, but would like to know if a 2000 watt generator will run just one a/c (one and only one 13500 btu a/c)? Leaning towards the Honda eu2200 or Yamaha right now. If you have experience with either of these, I’m all ears

Thanks all and Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hi folks, generally speaking you should remove your a/c cover to access the electrical tag on the side of the metal housing.
You can use ohms law to help figure this out. Your biggest challenge would be having enough wattage/amperage to handle the in rush when the a/c starts up. I would guess that the a/c when running would pull around@ 13 amps((compressor and fan total). But at compressor start up, you could be pulling@56 amp briefly (LRA).
So , your genset rating and surge rating are important when you make your decision.
Also, to help with your in rush numbers, a soft start might need to be installed on the a/c unit. Let the math guide your decisions.
