2027 284RK - Rear Camera

Hello everyone !

We just purchased a new 2027 284RK and we are excited to go on our first camping trip next week. One of the items i have been looking purchasing is a rear backup camera, the tech rep at General RV told me the rig was set up for a specific camera that was a plug and play with no additional wiring but he could remember the manufacturer - Would anyone on this forum be able to help me with this?

Just a guess but bet it was a Furrion. You can also email Alliance at service@Alliancerv.com. I think that is correct. If not someone will correct I'm sure. Email them with the last 6 VIN numbers of your RV and ask them.

You can used any camera that you want, they almost all make adapters that mate with Furrion mount. In our 292RL Alliance provided wiring (battery and ground) that connects back to a switch on our control panel. Which made the install really easy. We use a BT-11 camera from Haloview and it works great, we've had it for years. I picked the BT-11 because the display is designed to strap over the rearview mirror and it also has a front facing camera. I didn't want another device sitting on the dashboard. When not towing I leave the display on the mirror as it is reflective enough that I can still see behind me. I'm not sure if they still make it, I think that may have replaced it with a BT-16.

I'm not sure about the 284, but my 2026 252RL is prepped for a camera but no specific one. The wiring is there covered with a plug but there is no camera mount on the trailer. I'm going to need the camera mount as well as the camera when I get one soon. Have you checked on the back of the trailer? If there is a mount there already, there should be a brand name and model number of the camera that would fit it. Or at least the Furrion mount on my KZ fifth wheel had the model needed on it.
