2026 252RL Towing

I have the 262 and my RAM 1500 Hemi, payload 1720, struggled. Not enough safety margin and right up against my GCVR. Traded up to a RAM 2500 gas, payload 3125, huge improvement and tow with confidence.

Even though you are technically within the "maxing towing weight", you are looking at a real world hitch weight of between 850 and 1268 lbs when calculated using the GVWR. I'm seeing that with 15% of the GVWR on the hitch, you'd only have ~293 lbs left for occupants AND any cargo in the truck. That is simply not enough unless you plan on going camping by yourself with little cargo. With just the mid-point hitch weight of 1056 lbs, you've pretty much exhausted your max tongue weight. Again, these calculations are using the GVWR and you'd have a little bit more room if you don't load the trailer to GVWR. Speaking for myself however, I would not plan on towing this trailer with this truck and would be looking either at a smaller trailer or upgrading to a 3/4 ton truck.

This is exactly what I was afraid of... yes, it would only be me, my bike and kayak and what little clothes I would pack

The biggest thing that pisses me off is this...

"Premium Lightweight Travel Trailer

Alliance RV is proud to announce the launch of our new Delta line of laminated travel trailers, marking our entry into the non-toy hauler travel trailer market. The name Delta has been a concept we've had in mind since the beginning, representing change and accomplishment. These travel trailers are designed to be easily towed by a half-ton pick-up truck or larger SUVs."

marketing ploy or BS?
