    Hello from Georgia

As a kid we camped in the UP and I fell in love with the wilderness. It took me almost 40 years to get there. ๐Ÿ˜ Were you stationed at Kinchloe?

    Propane Quick Connect Recall

I don't think it's on the site. You're best place to find out recalls is here or the Facebook page. I did see a while ago that Alliance was on the list, and I read a couple of days ago on Facebook that the A-Team was changing the valves at the rally. I also read that Alliance may be shipping...

    Sanitize water system

Hmmm....not that I know of. Thinking about that, if the rod was bad, I think only the hot would smell. When I was checking your ratio, the article I was reading said it may take several attempts at sanitizing. Sorry, that's all I got.
  4. Whitewolf

    Paradigm Entry Door Replacement

If you haven't already, you probably contact Alliance. Replacing the door should be pretty straightforward, but I can understand wanting a sealant on the outside.
  5. Whitewolf

    Sanitize water system

I believe your ratio is correct. After filling the tank with the solution, did you turn on each faucet until you smelled bleach? Another thought is maybe it's time to change the anode rod?

    New member to form.

Welcome Barry! This is a great place to learn things. ๐Ÿ™‚ Ummmm..... did you mean late 2022 instead of 2021? I know I lost a year in my brain due to covid shutdowns. :oops:๐Ÿคฃ:ROFLMAO:

Alliance Avenue storage door lock keys

Nothing to worry about. I've been told I was wrong on many occasion. Just ask my wife. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I can safely say that, cause she's not on here.
  8. Whitewolf

    Sewer odor

Could you tell if it was 'black' or 'grey' tank smell? We had a similar but different problem in our 340. We got a black tank smell when ever we flushed. Guage said not full, but I dumped anyway and the smell went away.

Alliance Avenue storage door lock keys

I have not seen an Avenue up close, but from pictures, it appears you have storage compartment latches. They would be different from cam locks. Cam locks are for your propane, front storage and leveler doors. Since I haven't seen one up close, I could always be wrong. I have been before. ๐Ÿคฃ
  10. Whitewolf

    Door Thickness?

Compartment door locks are $25 to $27.50 before discount.

5th Wheel King Pin Tripod Stabilizer

I'm thinking of something like this for the front. Gotta make sure they'd fit our jacks. https://www.morryde.com/products/5th-wheel-stabilizer/#video And then this for the back if needed. https://www.morryde.com/products/hitch-mount-stabilizer/ I met a fellow last year that had this setup and...

Alliance Avenue storage door lock keys

From what I understand all the storage locks are the same for everybody. Mine is 357 and I saw where someone else had the same number. Sorry, I don't know about Avenues, but if you already have Bauer basement locks, you can send them to Bauer and they will rekey them. About $15 each and you...
  13. Whitewolf

    Door Thickness?

If anyone already has Bauer basement door latches, Bauer will rekey those locks. You'll need to send in your locks and pay for shipping. It's $15 (I think) to rekey each one.

    Hello from Georgia

Good for you! Remodeling our home so our goal is to be part timers. ๐Ÿ˜ We're from Michigan's U.P.
  15. Whitewolf

    Recommended exterior caulk

I contacted Alliance by email about using this sealant for the same areas as you. They said it would work fine. I've use it before on a previous RV without any problems. You can get it in at Ace Hardware. It also comes in a smaller squeeze tube. https://www.sashco.com/products/lexel/

    Hello from STL

Greeting and congratulations on your 340 purchase! STL to FL is a good 'shake down' trip. :giggle: After a couple of delays we are scheduled to pick ours up in a week from over in S Dakota. Then down to West Plains MO for a few days.
  17. Whitewolf

Soon to be rollin' with a 40v13

Hello! I definitely agree with what Todd said about doing your own PDI. After a long delay, (long story for another time) we'll be picking up our 340 next Monday. I plan on starting on the roof and not finishing until I'm laying on my back underneath. :)
  18. Whitewolf

    Couch lowered

I'm 5'8" and Shirley is 5'4", so this is something I will be doing. Thanks for the video!
  19. Whitewolf

    Interior Paneling Seam Tape Peeling

I would definitely call Alliance on this one.
  20. Whitewolf

How do you cut the power to the 12V refrigerator?

Still speaking from and about our Montana HC, there should be a switch or fuse to pull in the fuse panel. You may need to flip a breaker and pull a fuse one at a time to find out. Sorry, that's my only suggestion. When we pick up our 340RL, I'll be looking at the panel to see how things are...
  21. Whitewolf

    Fresh water capacity

That's a very good question. Do you know anyone else that has a flow meter that you can check against yours?
  22. Whitewolf

    information on bedroom slide-out motor.

Unfortunately I think too many people spend too much time of facebook than here.

    Fifth Wheel Hitches

I've got a 2021 Ram with the air bags in the back. Don't know about a coupler. I never thought about it and never looked. ๐Ÿ˜†

    Michigan UP Rally Sept 28-Oct 1, 2022

Do you have a campground in mind?
  26. Whitewolf

    Battery Size

    I think they're Group 24. You'd have to measure. Here's a chart from Advance Auto. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/r/advice/car-maintenance/battery-size-chart
  27. Whitewolf

    Disc Brakes

If possible, I think that's the best way to get what you want. Order one instead of getting one off the lot and then upgrading.
  28. Whitewolf

    Blue Ridge GA

Thanks for the info on the campground. I'll keep that one in mind. BTW, did you see any Joro spiders?
  29. Whitewolf

    Fifth Wheel Hitches

At one time the Goosebox was the only goose neck hitch that Lippert would allow for warranty. I think Anderson has their own frame warranty and I don't know about Gen-Y. I pulled our Montana HC for 8 years with a Goosebox. Very heavy and sturdy. I carried a small 12v air compressor for the...
  30. Whitewolf

    Cost

I believe trying to find an 'average' cost will be next to impossible. I've seen $20K+ differences between dealers for reasons I don't understand. As @Jim Beletti said, try a couple of dealers close to you. That being said, I didn't like the pricing (or attitude) of a dealer 200 miles away and...

  32. Whitewolf

Hello from Black Creek on Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada!

Welcome! Keeping our 'kids' happy and comfortable to the rv life can sometimes be a challenge. Glad Dolly is adjusting so well. :)

First trip out with plumbing problems

๐Ÿ˜‚ That's pretty much the same stuff I'm taking.๐Ÿคฃ I figure what I forget, I'll get at a hardware of big box store. Haven't taken deliver yet and already had a hiccup. They pulled it out of storage to get it ready for us and found a couple of broken windows. Had to order new.
  34. Whitewolf

    Hello from Utah

Welcome! As Todd lauded to, lots of good answers to questions here.
  35. Whitewolf

First trip out with plumbing problems

Keep any rv long enough and you'll be a jack-of-all-trades before you know it. ๐Ÿ˜ Among the tools I'll be taking when we pick up our Paradigm in a few weeks is my Pex cutter and clamp crimper. Just in case we run into problems similar to yours. ๐Ÿ˜„
  36. Whitewolf

    Hello from MA

    Welcome!
  37. Whitewolf

First trip out with plumbing problems

Sounds like you have a faulty faucet seal. I don't know if Avenues have water shut offs for the faucets like Paradigms have. But since you're already worked with with Pex, you could add a shut-off on the side that's causing you problems. And get it fixed at the Rally along with the other...

    Diesel engine oil shortage?

I took my truck to the dealer at 15,000 to get the oil and filters changed. The only reason I did was because I didn't want to lay in the snow to do it. I took my own oil (they don't care). The only problem was the truck takes 2 fuel filters and they were having a problem getting them...
  39. Whitewolf

    The "delayed" gurgle

Hmmm. The only time I've experienced this is at a campground that their system wasn't properly vented.

    PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION (PDI) CHECKLIST

    Guess I should've looked and Ed&Syl's pdf before I commented. :LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL:
  41. Whitewolf

    PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION (PDI) CHECKLIST

Exactly. Great list with some things I never would have thought of, like lifting up on the counter tops. :) The only thing I can think of to add is going up on the roof to check things out up there. A/C covers, antenna, vent pipes, sealant, awning attachments, and what ever else you have up...

Progressive Industries 50 Amp Hardwired RV Electrical Management System Surge Protector With Integrated Display (1 MIN), EMS-LCHW50

Great! When looking for a spot, remember you can install these things in about any configuration the wiring will allow. :D
  43. Whitewolf

What is the proper torque for the for the bedroom a/c unit lag bolts?

I'm not sure there is a torque on the bolts, but I'm probably wrong. What I do is use a 1/4" drive and socket. 3/8" if you don't have a 1/4. Hold your hand right near the ratchet part of the ratchet and snug it up fairly good. (How's that for a torque setting ๐Ÿคฃ) By holding your hand on the...
  44. Whitewolf

Progressive Industries 50 Amp Hardwired RV Electrical Management System Surge Protector With Integrated Display (1 MIN), EMS-LCHW50

Sorry, but I'm not exactly what you mean by 'transfer switch'. The best place to wire these in, is somewhere between the power plug on the RV and the power converter, which is the first thing the power touches. Putting it here is what saves your bacon if there's a problem, It's the same as...
  45. Whitewolf

Progressive Industries 50 Amp Hardwired RV Electrical Management System Surge Protector With Integrated Display (1 MIN), EMS-LCHW50

I'm going to say yes to a surge protector, no matter the situation. It's a pretty cheap investment in the protection of your RV and the appliances in it. Here at our house, we loose power and have brown outs anytime of the year. Low voltage can happen anywhere. Even though you're stationary...

    Paradigm Kitchen Lights

I would say to start here. General Inquiries (574) 218-7165 info@alliancerv.com I think others have gone here. Can't say for sure. Contact Sales (574) 281-9869 sales@alliancerv.com Either way, they'll direct you to the right source.

    Diesel engine oil shortage?

I ordered Amsoil a few weeks ago. The only disclaimer on their site was it may take longer to get here due to shipping problems. I got what I needed in a few days.

    Recommended Covers

I had an ADCO on our 34' Montana HC for a couple of years, but haven't covered it at all for the last 3 due to taking off for a while during the winter. I don't plan on buying one for the 340 we pick up in a couple of weeks for that same reason. The ADCO fit well and was soft, so I never had...

Maybe off-topic: Anyone using RV Trip Wizard?

I use RV Trip Wizard pretty much exclusively. There was a bit of a learning curve (for me ๐Ÿ˜‚) but I really do like it. There is an amazing amount of info and direct links to the park. For me, a great feature is when you enter a park into your trip and try to figure out your next stop, and you...

    Queen to King mattress upgrade/conversion

I think that the beds in the Paradigms and Valors King standard with Queen optional. And the Avenue is Queen standard with King optional. Take a look at the floor plans on their site. https://www.alliancerv.com If you buy a unit with a queen, there is a difference in some of the dimensions...

    Hello From Sunny Florida

Greetings from Michigan's U.P.! Even after pulling 2 travel trailers and soon to be our 2nd 5th wheel, over the last 13 years, pull thru's are the best. :D As Todd said, don't be afraid to ask questions.
  54. Whitewolf

Progressive Industries 50 Amp Hardwired RV Electrical Management System Surge Protector With Integrated Display (1 MIN), EMS-LCHW50

If you're talking about the EMS-HW50C, I have that unit in our Montana HC. It saved our bacon once at a campground that had a low voltage problem on one of the 50a legs. It started shutting the HC down at 108v if I remember right. Liked it so much I'm taking all my tools with me to install a...

    Corner Shower Caddy

I've read of others that were able to get different pars from Alliance. Not sure about the caddy. Give the 'Sales' or 'Service' line a call. One of them will know and point you in the right direction.

Greetings from da U.P. This IS a good forum. Just wish people would post more over here instead of facebook.

    RV Cheap Heat install

I will. I do like the idea of using plastic instead of metal or just leaving them out in the open.
