Main propane regulator flaky?

Well, it sounds like you are going to need to put some of that enthusiasm to work forcing that valve off of its back seat, valves can get stuck open easy enough with a little extra umph.
I have tried I even had some guys that are a lot younger and stronger than I am give it a try. I’m going to wait till it’s empty before I take it out of the RV and put a wrench on it.

I took out the gauges and the tank made the switch okay. I’m cautiously optimistic, will wait to see how the next few switches go. Cold weather here on and off so burning a tank every ten days or so.

Our tank switch/regulator has always shown RED since we bought it. It's set to draw from driver side first yet draws from both tanks. Reason I know this is we ran out of propane while doing a better systems check when we got it home. Dealer was a 4hr trip one way and didn't plan an overnight stay. I called the manufacturer and they refuse to replace it unless we filed "another", warranty claim with Alliance. We've already had a
dozen issues as it was. Come spring I'll just buy a different brand, one I KNOW and TRUST, and replace it my self.

As a suggestion, have you reached out directly to Alliance Service to discuss your issue?
It is not unheard of for them to send out replacement parts while under warranty. Although given that this involves the Propane system they might hesitate to send it directly to you for install. You could ask them to schedule a mobile tech for the replacement if they require a certified tech to change it out. Get it taken care of now and you’ll be ready for that first spring trip. Good Luck!

Alliance was so hesitant to send out a mobile repair for our sliding barn door wall replacement I highly doubt they'd pay $200 plus for the tech to come out for a $50 part.

I changed my faulty propane regulator myself. The new regulator was $36, gas pipe sealant tape $8 and finally a gas leak detector $23. The process took me about 30 minutes and no leaks. It was a different brand of trailer and the manufacturer reimbursed me for the total cost of the parts. Everything worked great, but since that was the 7th defective problem with the trailer, I traded up to my Delta 262RB.
