That surprised me at first but I guess you are getting the length on the bed in front of the rear axles. If you look at the pic above, I'm getting 7" with the 5" Gen 2 offset so it tracks about right in line with the measurements.

Any discussions with Gen-Y regarding the need for an offset with an full size bed?
I would have never thought this would be an issue on a full size bed. But makes sense given the dimensional change.
M and E and I had a discussion after his install and found out that they shorten the ball CL to Front Mounting hole CL by about 3 inches over previous models
I for one was shocked to learn that there was a dimensional change without a model number change.( at least from what I can find)

I called the GenY rep and discussed the possibility of the length change and he was a little less forthcoming with any changes that had been made. He led with each RV manufacturer's pin box to front storage area distances are different and that Ford tends to have there center puck more over to forward of the axle vs GM and Ram. So long story short, ordered the 5 in. Offset Gen 2 gooseball as 2 inches was going to be to close for my skill set. On another note, the '26 F-450 is a beast and can't wait to be towing to Florida in January.

I have a 2022 F-450 and it is a towing beast for sure! Question...can you measure the distance from the ball mount in the truck to the gap where the tailgate shuts? I can then do the same on my 2022 and see if Ford moved this forward a bit.

I don't want to say I regret purchasing the 350 over the 450, but it sure would be nice to have, but only for now as I see us going down a few feet/ lighter weight in six or seven years. ok...a buddy measured his 2024 F-450 and it is 46" from center of ball mount to end of truck bed. That would mean his tailgate would be even closer to the RV. I'll get you mine on Dec 11th
