Something small like that doesn't bother me. It's not that I don't see it. I just have bigger fish to fry.
I want the structural integrity to be solid and the unit to be watertight. I want the suspension to be robust and the water system leak free.
I want all my lights and outlets to work and my hydraulic system to be trouble free
That's where I want the focus. I'm not very concerned with a small detail I can see. I'm more worried about a major issue concealed somewhere that I can't see.
If a piece of trim is loose or a door doesn't latch or a seam is unsightly I can deal with that.
A utility knife can cut that divider trim in minutes. If I need to take care of that detail I'm OK with that.
In the RV world I have to learned not to sweat the small stuff, because there will be plenty of big stuff to be concerned about.

I would argue that the trim shown in the picture is a design flaw, not quality. This type of fit/ finish is indicative of the lack of thought in the design of the AC installation. Trimming the ceiling joint should be called out on a drawing or in an assembly procedure somewhere, you can’t just leave it up to a random assembly guy to take it on himself do it.
My floating outlet in the bathroom that doesn’t seem to be fastened to anything is more of a quality issue.
Generally, in comparison with other coaches we looked at, the quality on our 310rl is very good. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement. Sometimes it’s the little details that close the deal.

I can't dispute that there isn't always room for improvement. But I would have to know more about the entire structure to decide if it's a design flaw. How big are the sheets? how are the rafters laid out ?
Would moving the seam require an additional sheet or a additional rafter? Could the AC units be simply moved a bit or does that impact things on the roof like solar panels? Is that location optimal for the AC performance?
Is it as simple as the assembly worker who is paid by the piece for got to trim the divider? Or is pumping out units a quickly as possible more of a priority than the details!:unsure:
In order for it to be a design flaw it would have to interfere with the proper operation of the unit or RV as a whole.
The trim is more aesthetic than anything it's intended purp[ose is all about looks and has no impact on the function of the RV.
If all really talking about is a divider strip I won't go as far as to call it a design flaw. The RV industry does not build to precision.
RV's are all sort of a work in progress. I doubt any to RV's built on different shifts by different crews are: wired , plumbed or assembled exactly the same!
Just look at all the loose jumbled wires running through the basement area. No precision there!:rolleyes:
I'm not criticizing there methods but I understand how the arbitrarily the RV is assembled I don't expect all the minute details to be addressed because the assembly process is very random.
I agree there is room for improvement, but there are more critical areas to improve upon, like simply the OEM tires they install vs. where the ceiling panels are seamed. I'm just hoping the AC keeps up on a hot day, doesn't leak or trip the breaker,starts up via my portable Lp generator and last at least 10 years. Where the seams are located is low on my priority list. Too many other things to worry about!:)

I’m not explaining myself well. It looks to me like they don’t have a drawing for the divider. If they did it would have a cutout for the AC. Leaves the final fit decision up to assembly.
Wild wiring mess can be solved by a very old invention, the wiring harness.

Correct if they don't do a very good job of neatly securing the wires running throughout the unit which I'm certain leads to a few shorts and open circuits.They surely aren't concerned about the aesthetics of the ceiling trim.

I haven’t cracked the coroplast on mine to have a look, but I have seen pictures of the rats nest other people have posted. They must use one harness no matter the length and the shorter ones end up with a tangle?
I think you are right, all that wire bouncing around could easily cause problems. On our old Rockwood some of the black tank sensors were taken out that way.

IMG_8737.jpegThey are doing a good job on the outside trim, I have seen other more expensive units from other manufacturers that are running the horizontal trim under the door trim instead of butting it, creating a potential leak. All the trim on our coach was done correctly.

IMG_8748.jpegI fixed the “floating” outlet in the bathroom (why is it right next to the faucet?). There were two “studs” on either side of it, I managed to angle four 1 1/2” screws at a 45 and catch them. Solid as a rock now. Hole in the wall looks like it was chewed by a beaver.
