WiFi Ranger Installed

Longhaul

New member
Among many other mods completed in the first 2 months of ownership, the Winegard WiFi Ranger is up and running. Previous experience in our truck camper with the Winegard 360 and gateway router proved to work well. It does not create its own cell signal where none exists, but did allow us to work and stream where ATT had a bar or 2.
For the Avenue I used the 360 antenna with the WiFi Ranger instead of the Gateway. It integrates Starlink with the ATT cell sim card service. It can also pick up public wifi where available. Service is prioritized in the order the user selects. There are other advantages to having both options, but having the cellular wifi allows me to pause the Starlink while the rig is in storage. I use the cell option to stream music or use internet while I am working on the rig in the storage lot. Saves $150/mo while in storage.
I used the Wi Fi Ranger with ethernet cable to the Starlink in the basement storage. Starlink has its own 12v fuse in the panel for the 12v power supply, and I installed a switch in the entry to turn off the Starlink system at night. The cable uses the port in the storage bay to get the cable to the ladder at the back. Its a 10 min setup. We can stream movies and music anywhere. The new sound system help a little too!
