Which BAL Slide in Current New Units?

Hello - new member here with first post besides an introductory one. We are looking seriously at an Avenue 5er, either a 32RLS or a 29RL. I have learned a lot on these boards - thank you!

From reading, it sounds like BAL has upgraded the cable slide used in the bedroom in the 32RLS to address problems with the prior design. I had a couple of questions: (1) does anyone know by chance when Alliance started to install the upgraded system in new units (looking at both 2027 and 2026 units)?; (2) to those who have made the repair/upgrade, are you happy with the result and does it seem like that will resolve the problems?

We would prefer the 32RLS over the 29RL, but not by a ton, and if I thought the bedroom slide was going to wear me out, that might be a consideration in going with the 29.

Can’t say for sure about the change over. You could grab the VIN and call Alliance directly and ask them to review the Bill of Material for you.

The update appears to be a robust improvement in my opinion.

You could always make it a condition of sale if you find that it has the older design installed.

Also for what it is worth, it appears that Alliance has changed to a different type bedroom slide recently, not sure of the manufacturer. But it appears to be installed and serviceable from under a false floor in the bedroom under bed storage area.
