TV Hookup

2024 32rls. I cannot locate the wall plate that contains the switches for antenna/satellite. Watched a video of the entire TV/antenna/cable/operation. Video and owners manual says it's just inside the passenger side pass through. There's a wall plate with two coax inputs, but no switches and no green light indicators. Did someone forget? Maybe it's located elsewhere but no luck finding it yet.

I’m looking for where the “splitter” may be. Is it on backside of the amplifier switch in nose closet?

Found it! It all splits off the Winegard amplifier. I identified the cable for the living room tv. And added an additional amplifier for that coax. Now the living room tv picks up maximum over the air channels. There was significant signal loss to the living room.

Where exactly is the amplifier? The reception in my valor sucks on the living room tv as well.

In the Avenue 5th Wheel it’s in the front closet in the nose. It’s the Winegard faceplate with on/off switch for the antenna amplifier. (Side note: if you hook up to cable TV at a campground the amplifier needs to be off). I removed the faceplate from the wall and pulled it forward being careful with the wires. the coax runs for all the tv hookups are connected to the back of the amplifier with a dongle. I took them off one at a time till I heard the living room TV go blank. I then hooked up an additional amplifier to the living room coax. After a rescan I received 43 stations instead of 11. I drilled a small opening for the extra amplifier coax cables. The closet is prepped for a washer and dryer so there was an outlet handy to power the amplifier.

In my Jayco Eagle the Winegard amplifier faceplate was behind the living room TV.

Thanks, mine is in that location as well.

I have read your thread hoping to understand why my 2 bedroom TV's in my 24' Valor 36V11 get perfect reception with CABLE TV but my Living Room TV is TERRIBLE!!! The picture on the Living Room TV is great when I am streaming or watching over the air channels, but as soon as I want to watch cable and turn off the antenna booster in the nose of the coach, the Living Room goes to crap. The picture coming thru is small, fuzzy and unwatchable. I have taken all the "wall plate" switches off I can find and even traced the cables in the underbelly as far as I can see for loose connections. Everything I can see/touch is tight. The bedroom TV's come in great on cable.

Any suggestions???

As a test try running a new piece of coax from a jack that provides a great picture and feed the tv your having issues with.

Just run it on the floor and see what happens, if you picture improves, you know you have something to trace out and repair on that run. If it doesn’t improve, could the tv settings need investigated? Or would a signal amplifier help any?

Thanks!! I will give it a try when I can get a second piece of coaxial cable. I will keep you updated.

On my Valor the coax to the living room runs underneath the stairs and there is a splitter under there where it splits. One to the living tv and the other to the wall plate connection in the under storage. You can remove the splitter if you don't ever want to use the under storage connection. Use a barrel connector to connect the coax together to the living room. Removing the splitter will gain you another 3db in signal strength. Depending on the signal strength at the park, that may be enough.

Todd F- Thanks I will take a look today and see if I can find it!

On my amplifier, the ant off on button works but the wi fi light stays on green no matter what position that button is in. Thoughts?

I would think just a bad switch? Prob no worries if you never use the wifi.

I should mention, that wi fi switch was hot to the touch as well. Ran down all coax, several hard kinks... one under stairs and one in bedroom ceiling. My unit just went out of 1st year warranty last week and today, garage bathroom led light completely out.

Kinks in coax definitely not good. The signal actually rides on the outside of the center stinger( steel with a copper coating) . The white foam surrounding the center stinger is where the signal is present.
