Toilet not filling with water

I recently had to replace the flush valve on my dometic toilet after the water in it froze last winter. I was able to do that ok and it was working ok for a couple months but just recently it stopped refilling the toilet when you flush. If I bend down and pull the water line towards the toilet while holding down the flush pedal, it will make a click noise and start filling the water. This will last a couple of flushes before it stops again. Anyone have any ideas what I can do to permanently fix this? I was thinking maybe I need to get a little bit longer water line from the shutoff to the valve to try to keep it push against the toilet but low confidence that will work. My wife is not a fan of having to put her face next to the bowl to get it to flush so would like to get this one resolved.

Have you checked to see if something has come loose related to the flush/ fill valve?

If it's fully inserted into it's socket and the two screws are tightened down I can't imagine what it could be besides a defective valve.

You guys really know your s$%t ;-)

is there a kink in the hose inside the wall that when you pull it towards you you say it is able to fill the toilet and after a few flushes it goes back. does the hose kink again inside the the wall you may have to look underneath in the compartment and see if you can find that hose. I'm assuming it's PEX plastic hose that could be a problem possibly give it a try. good luck! keep us posted

@George @BryanValRox @Lantley @SKYSKIOC @RockDr896 and lot of others do. I'm a novice but can't resist researching topics about things I don't know and which will likely be a problem I have to deal with. Suspension and electrical issues (vehicle stuff too)...I can help. Other than that, babe in the woods.

And, as I get older, I want to know what I'm going to do myself, and what I'm going to write a check for!
