Tighten the four outside screws on the garage/basement door latches.
Otherwise, this can happen.
If it does fail, obviously easy to fix. But if it fails when the door is latched, you’ll have to crawl in the basement/garage to access the screws. That could mean emptying your garage from the opposite side. If both sides fail at the same time, it could be problematic. Ounce of prevention kind of thing.
Loctite 222 (purple) should probably be used on those screws.
