Thermostat Dying?

While overall I agree RV components could be more robust.
I see your case as an isolated incident. Loose connections occur in all components.
My brand new truck had a loose connection at a sensor that caused problems.
I would not jump to the conclusion that the furnace is somehow deficient or inferior due to your connection issues.
The professionals were able to diagnose the issue right away and things have been fine since.
While I'm sure the problem was frustrating it was minor issue.
The moral to the story is sometimes you need an experienced pro to fix basic simple things.

Part of my frustration was stemming from being a licensed mechanic, that never developed a spark chaser’s instincts. I would also counter that the loose connections I’ve dealt with in other equipment are usually an installation issue vs a materials issue.

This wasn’t an installation issue. The connection was loose because the connector wore out. Having multiple worn out connectors after two winters (bought new in APR 2023) is disappointing.
