Starlink Mini permanent mount location

I plan to capture one of their robo hounds, when they hit the market and tie them up to my rig. Simply hack their system and get free connection..LOL!! I will need to stake them in a position, so their guns are pointed away from the RV door of course.

The Mini is small enough to lay flat on the dash of our Superduty with the kickstand nested in the tray. We get pretty good down and upload even driving down the highway. Having it unsecured and reflecting off the inside of the front window are the downsides.

How is it powered when going down the road? is it plugged in to truck or camper?

We have a sunroof in our truck. @Oregon_Camper posted a link for a device to mount it there. I'm going to give it a shot on the way to the rally. I want to test it for consistent connection as we may take Zoom/Teams meetings on travel days from the truck while moving.

I am thinking of getting the Milwaukee battery adapter to use if we need to have phone service on road if we don’t have cell service

It comes with a 120v wall wart. We plug it into one of the 120v outlets in the cab. I am ordering a 12V cable to use instead.

I would have to get short cable anyway, and the battery adapter comes with 10 ft cable. Would only use for emergency. I worry about messing something up in truck using the 120 plug. I am paranoid. Lol
