Slide out dropping too low

I'm in the process of purchasing a 2021 Paradigm 390mp from a dealer and we found a few issues to be fixed by them before possession. I'm wondering if anyone knows the cause of these problems and the proper fix so that I can ensure the dealer fixes it properly and not just temporarily to get me out the door.

All of the slide skis are marking the floor. They said they will fix the floor but obviously something is causing them to rub. I know one ski is broken for sure and is on the list but is it likely all of the skis are worn out?

The main issue is the dinette slide drops down too low as it's extended to the out position. In the last couple of inches when dropping down to be flush, it pinches the flooring hard and is cracking the trim. Is this a simple adjustment? Worn out skis? Rollers? I'm not completely familiar with the workings of the flush floor slides but trying to learn.

I've heard of this on other RV's...not just Alliance. Just take an oscillating saw and cut off a enough to let it slide by

That's an option, but this is a symptom of something that has changed in the way the slide operates over time so it would be nice to identify the root cause and fix it. I could trim it back but then it could just settle further.

So from 10,000 feet the possibility that something settled is a definite maybe!!!!

Remember that a flush floor slide is just that, raise the flap and inspect the slide floor to see how it sits in relationship to the coach floor. It should be somewhat even or even slight below the flooring.

You should have slide skies on each end and depending on when they started to install them, nylon ramps near the ends and I believe one in the middle. Their purpose is to slide under the taper nose of the wooden slide floor and lift the slide out of the metal basin.

Is your slide level inside when extended? The only real adjustments are your vertical and horitizonal adjustments at the end of your slide out arms. These are usually used to balance the level of the slide out box and the relationship of the wall and seals when the slide is retracted..

Also remember that it is normal to see a tapered appearance when the slide is extended while viewed from the side while outside. This is a result of the flush floor design.

It is entirely possible that the trim piece has been off in the past, I see witness marks and what looks to be fresh brad holes. So, it might be in need of a trim to keep it from buckling that flap. Doesn’t the flap move with the slide box? What is causing the buckle?

I will check those things. Both edges on both slides are leaving marks on the floor and not "floating" like they are supposed to so the guides are also likely worn out.

This one from the other slide is broken and has moved too far forward but the slide sits nice and flush and not pinching the flooring or trim.

Its possible that the skis are completely gone from the dinette slide which would probably cause the slide to sit lower than it should. A 1/4 inch could make all the difference.

I think you need to go outside and inspect your slide ski. It appears to have come loose and is now too far forward. Here is how mine looks.

Agree with Jim and yourself on his previous post, that ski has either come loose or shifted front or wasn’t cut off properly when it was installed. My ski’s are basically flush cut with the taper nose on the slide floor.

While I don’t see them in the frame of your picture, we have large nylon slide ramps mounted to the coach floor.
One near each end and one in the middle as I recall.

These help lift the slide out of the metal basin and would also support the slide floor when retracted. These might add the added distance you are looking for.

I do not believe that these were installed on earlier model coaches, but for sure out 2024 310 RL has them.

Can’t get you a picture at present, as the coach is closed up.

Thank you all. I did receive a reply from Alliance tech support. Both their tech support and parts departments have been amazing to deal with and super repsonsive to my emails. The tech indicated that with the wear on the floor that the skis should all be replaced and the slides adjusted. He said the trim is just likely too long on the slide fascia and needs to be trimmed, after the adjustment, if it is still sitting too low. I didn't think this would be the case and feared a much larger issue, but i was wrong and i appreciate @Oregon_Camper and @BryanValRox suggesting this in the first place. I will try to post some follow-up pictures after the dealer gets it all dialed in in a couple of weeks.
