Slide flippers

I added a few additional pieces of slide-out flippers to the sides of some of our slide-outs. I placed them vertically like the OEM did, not angled as in the product photos.
Does anyone see a problem with adding some to the tops as well? They don't always fully flip either.

I had Alliance send me some, because the top flaps on my larger slides were not fully coming out. Since then, I have gutted my shower, installed a new linoleum floor, segmented my underbelly, and made my pass through walls segmented and quick release. Yet, I have been too lazy to simply stick on the addition slide-out flippers...LOL! It is still on my list to do. I guess it is sort of like never finishing the house to do list, until you sell it!!

George, I installed them on the tops of our three slides. They have worked perfectly.

I assume that Alliance was accommodating in sending you those flippers? Will have to send them a email requesting the same.

The RV is closed up so the picture isn’t great.

I basically took 8 inch pieces of the flipper material and equally spaced them along the length of each slide box top.
As you can see from the tape reference they are about 11-12 inches from the outside wall opening.

I checked the seals all last season after setting up and they were 100% flipped each time. I also checked recently on our first trip this year, and found 100% as well. I have gained enough confidence at this point, that I won’t be dragging the ladder out to double check to be sure that they have flipped all of the way.

I installed today and they work great.
I put two on the shorter slide and three on the longer kitchen slide. I did not put them on the bed slide (mainly because it's hard to get to from inside and slide toppers on the outside.
I placed them halfway to the wall (in and out) and spaced them evenly lengthwise. Did not use rocket surgery. 😉

Without rocket science...that RV will never fly!!

Great, thanks. I figured it wouldn’t be super critical on placement but it never hurts to see what others are doing.

It is strange that the flippers you can order are 18" and from the way some people's pictures they place the entire 18" at an angle on the side of the slide outs. The one's that I have are kind of hit and miss. I have brought that the the attention of Alliance Service. They are waiting on some pictures. Anyway... the ones that I do have on one of my slide outs are only about 3-4 inches long and only three placed equal distant apart.
I will have some pictures tomorrow. Not sure the entire 18" needs to be used as one piece. I would think that 3-4 strips about 3-4 inches in length would be sufficient.

@Flyer32RLS I cut them into pieces about 5"-6" long and placed them as Alliance does — Vertically. I didn't waste multiple whole strips trying the angled method shown in the Amazon photos. It does not appear to be necessary to use the angled method.
I'm sure the seller would prefer the angled method though. 😉
Update: Actually my pieces were whatever 18"/4 is. I cut each in half 3 times. No measure.

Curious if the issues with the slide seal not flipping is limited to the top of the slides or the sides as well.

Hi Mike,
The issue can affect both the top and the side seals.

Our 310 RL came with factory installed flippers on the side walls of the kitchen slide out.

The condition is more prone to surface on the slide surfaces that are smooth and without a window or something that has to travel under the seal to get the process started.
