Slamming the Door

It seems since we have arrived at our new camp spot, we have to really slam the door to get the mechanism to catch. I don't see anything broke, missing or bent, it just is hard to get it to catch when you close the door. I can push it close up to the door frame but when I just let it sit there, it hangs away from the frame about 2 inches. Seems like it needs to be bent inward. I remember when we first picked up the rig, I had to use a 2x4 to flex the door to get it to open/close easier. Before I do that, wanted to see if anyone has experienced the same issue and what the fix was.

Do you have fold down steps, and have they been reset to your new campsite?
If the feet extensions don’t allow the the hinge plate to go low enough, the door will be difficulty or impossible to close.

We had that problem with our Montana and it ended up being the friction hinges. I sprayed them with white lithium and kept working the door until it worked smoothly. After that and with the Alliance I pulled the caps on the hinges and filled the cups with 3 in one oil and let it work through about once a month. Never had any more issues.

As mentioned about the steps... how does the door close if the steps are up? If it closes easily then it's probably the step leg adjustment.
If asked what things I dislike about today's RV's the top two things might be friction hinges and the steps.

Yep, mine was a bear to close as well. I have noticed, that they put the Latch plate in the frame, with ZERO ability to adjust it right or left. I ended up pulling out a metal file and filing out what little bit of metal there was in the jam, as well as thinning out the latch plate. This was my fix to a zero adjustment product. Mine was installed to the very outside of the jam. I think I managed to gain 1/16" by filing the jam. There are videos online at Lippert, on how to adjust the "preload" of the friction hinges, I just didn't want to go through their process.

When we bought our 310 last year we had problem with latch from day one. Got with alliance and they sent new door. If you look up doors on here you will see other people have had same. The new door had more mounting screws than original. I think frame was problem.
