Shower surround wall panel - gap near shower pan

Not sure if this is the right spot to post this but….. we bought a 310rls paradigm last fall and it is in getting some repairs before the one year warranty expires. One of the things I asked the dealer to look at was our shower surround. It was not sealed at the bottom and had a wave in it where your could tell it wasn’t actually bonded to the wall.
The dealership called me today and said that Alliance’s fix for this was to drill holes in the surround and secure with rivets…
This doesn’t seem right to me. We bought this trailer based on all the good reviews and commitments this brand has promised.

Is this a normal repair procedure?
Is it normal that the shower surround flexes and there is no sealant at the bottom where it drains into the pan?

We have a similar issue. Talking with Alliance I learned that there is a 2" lip that projects upward behind the surround. This should prevent water from migrating upward. They do not seal the bottom, I assume because everything flexes a bit and it would just open the seal. The surround is held in place with 2 sided tape. I think that flexing breaks the hold the tape has on the panels, allowing the bulge.

Ours is buckled all the way to the top, indicating too much material between the bends in the corners. The initial repair approved by Alliance to our dealer was plastic rivets, as you were told. I did not accept that answer. I even told them I didn't buy and Alliance to make it look like my old Jayco.

Since that discussion, an issue popped up that we elected to take the coach back to Alliance for repair. They are going to address the shower while there. There will be no rivets.

Call Alliance service directly about the problem. Be courteous but firm. Especially courteous. They really will work with you to solve your problems.

Thank you for the info. I will reach out to them but we are in northern British Columbia and the closest dealer is 3hrs away. Not sure what alliance can and will do for us.

Would sure like to know who you talked to and what they approved in the end. Our Paradigm is also still under warranty. We bought it partly because the bathroom is so beautiful! Sadly, this is what it looks like now after the Alliance-approved fix. Yuck!!1720477169540.jpeg It lets water in behind the screw holes and traps water under the molding they told our dealer to install. Not to mention it LOOKS horrible! I've talked to both the original dealer and the factory customer service and they keep telling me the massive bulge at the ground level is normal! Not! Alliance has been pretty good about fixing the 100+ items (I'm not kidding!) we had issues with, so I'm hoping for one last try at this to get an actual fix. As mentioned above, I believe the shower material was cut too large and whatever is "inside" has come loose. We also had a rear-end shift and once that was fixed, the shower is now worse.

i believe the bottom being out a bit and not sealed is to allow moisture to release or weep out the bottom as well.

If it was sealed properly, there would be no moisture to release. We have the same issue and I am struggling to find a solution. It just looks like crap.

The shower in your home doesn't travel down the road. The floor and walls of the RV move at different rates.
Bonding them together inhibits movement and may cause more harm than good.

I have a one piece shower stall in my Valor 43v13 main bath and a shower base with wall panels in the rear bath.

So how do the units like Montana get by with one piece shower stalls?
One piece is different than a base and wall panels. There is no seam with one piece!
The issue with one piece is it may not removable in one piece. You should never need to replace the shower but if you do a one piece will not fit out the door. Likewise a new one will not fit in the door.

Apples taste differently than oranges, and need to be treated differently.
There is a video published by Bill Martin on what you know Wednesday series explaining why this joint isn’t sealed.
Our dealer even brought it to our attention during PDI . Not defending it, but just saying.
I believe I have seen newer 2025 Paradigms units that have switched to single piece units.

Wow the what you know Wednesday Series really needs to be promoted.
Lots of useful info from the horse's mouth.
Lots of info I already knew. However The video confirmed a few things I thought i knew.
It also enlightened me on a few things I did not know and never thought about.
I'm not sure if there is a link on this site . But I googled Alliance what you know Wednesday series and found lots of videos

Lantley, totally agree that it would be great if there was a link here that would link you to all of the episodes that @Bill Martin has done.
The beauty of the series is that each episode covers a single topic and is only about 30-60 seconds long and hits the highlights the topic.
It’s a great series for new owners and new to Alliance owners to learn about their coach.

If you go to AllianceRV YouTube channel and click on Playlists then WhatchaKnowWednesdays, you will find the 85 videos. A very good collection of FAQ videos.

Not working for me, do you have to subscribe? I hate joining another email generator. Seems like lt would make sense to have the videos on their website, especially since the owner’s manual is crap. I had no idea these videos existed until I read about it here.

I think the bottom line of what we are saying is, why would there be moisture on the other side of the wall in the first place?
