Well, folks might think I am crazy, but I realized we are on our third year of ownership and I notice that the teak on our shower seat in our 310RL was getting a little lite in color.
I decided to do something about it this weekend.
1. I purchased some Min Wax Teak Oil
2. I removed the the six screws that hold the shower seat slates in position and marked the boards for their position(1,2,3) during their removal.
3. A little lite sanding to smooth things out.
4. Next a wipe down with a damp rag and letting the boards dry.
5. I followed the instructions on the Min Wax Teak oil container to coat them.
6. Two coats later, the boards look like new.
7. Let them dry a day or two to let the smell of the oil dissipate.
8. Reinstall the board to their original position.
9. Enjoy the results of like new “Tan” boards.
My guess is that many owners with teak shower seats haven’t even thought about performing this easy maintenance task to their shower seats. While teak is very durable and moisture resistant , it still needs a little basic care from time to time.
