RK234 Improvement Suggestions For '26

Granted not many RK234's out there yet, but there may be more folks than just me thinking on buying one. I sure hope so, for your comments might influence Alliance.

Background:
I'd been considering the Grand Design 23LDE and still have to. Why? It comes with ABS standard and can easily be upgraded to electronic anti-sway. AS that is known to be very very effective. In my mind this is pretty cheap insurance against "oh shucks" and has a solid resale value add too. Remember when ABS first started coming as standard on cars? Cars without ABS took considerable resale hits.

I'd also love a king bed but don't want to give up the storage or walking around hassles. The solution? The Olympic Queen! At 6" wider it's just enough to make a big difference, yet at only 3" per side wider only a tiny big compromise to storage space or walking around.

The suggestions:
1) Include ABS as a standard. They're already using Dexter axles on this line, and those axles have the excellent Bosch ABS/AS system as an OEM option. Alliance need only make it available (or include it). Another option is to move to the Lippert axles like Grand Design uses on the 23LDE. Those too can have ABS as an OEM option.

2) Narrow the bedside drawers over the pass-thru tunnel by 3" each. Now owners can keep the factory mattresss and place glasses, books, phones etc in between or upgrade on their own to an olympic queen. Easy factory upgrade yet makes a big difference. They'd be the only one w/this floorplan that has it too! Cost is trivial to nothing!

3) Add a roof vent and some power to the bedroom. Yes, I'd add A/C. But that can be my cost/choice, just give me that dealer upgrade option. No, I'd not run it with the primary, A/C, so I could live with the 30a service still too! Jayco and Cougar both have it, but both are much heavier and neither have ABS or AS. Cost can't be more than $20-$30 dollars in component costs, yet deliver a huge value add to the owner!

These three things make this trailer so complete it's hard to imagine (pun intended) anybody in the under 30' couples market buying anything else!

Thoughts?

I asked our dealer about adding a roof vent over the bed in our ML206, and they said they would not even consider cutting a hole in the roof. I suppose that would nullify the roof warranty. I am somewhat disappointed that there isn't even a vent power wired in over the bed or near the galley. Maybe they will make a change in future models.

Our old Lance had a vent with a fan over the bed and we used it a lot for exhausting warm air, or just giving us a little air movement in the bedroom. We have a Maxxair fan ordered, and I will install in the bathroom. I hope running the fan in the bathroom and opening bedroom windows will be satisfactory. I added a grille (door grille) in the lower portion of the bathroom door, and hopefully this helps improve air circulation when we use the fan with the bathroom door closed.
