Remove on demand water heater. Replace with tank style water heater

We're considering taking out the tankless on demand water heater, and replacing it with a tank style water heater. Our coach is a 2025 Avenue 23ML. We can't see behind the heater box, which is only 12 inches deep. Most tank style water heaters go deeper than that. A new Dometic is about 20 inches. Is there enough room behind the box to fit a regular Electric/Gas tank style water heater?

Socal-Paul is correct, if you take that little square panel off that's at the bottom of the pantry (behind the door), it lets you see behind the water heater. I haven't measured but there is some room back there. It should be as wide as the pantry. If you put in a Gas/Electric water heater you'll need to run AC but that should be easy as there is room for two more breakers in the fuse box on the "non-inverter" side of the box.

Azcharlie2025 - if you're into boondocking, a tankless water heater can waste a LOT of your precious fresh water, especially showering - that is unless you love bursts of cold water during 'navy showers." And I've been RV'ing for over 50 years, some of it with two daughters with long hair. We have NEVER run out of hot water with a 6 gal. fast recovery tank heater. Tankless water heaters are "cool" and great in homes, but sometimes, new technology isn't always best.
