Rear Camera Prep Inop

Hello RVers,
I recently took delivery on 12Sep of a 2027 Delta RK234 VIN: 5TD2726VC310868.
I'm hoping someone may be able to assist with an electrical issue:

1. The rear camera wiring prep is inoperable. I’ve checked voltage at the two wires terminated at the rear of the unit, just below the marker lights and there is no voltage, either with or without running lights active. The control panel has a blankout insert for the “Camera Pwr” (there is no power switch). Any insight how to activate the rear camera power.

All in all, we’re really pleased with the build quality and the layout of the RK234.

I'd pop the cover off and look behind for the 12v wires that should be attached to a switch.

Hello Jim, I did remove the control panel cover at the 'camera pwr' switch and found the wire leading to the rear camera. It is connected to another wire via a lever-nut splicer, yet there is no power at the feed wire. I then removed the main electrical panel to see if I could find the feed wire at the fuse panel. I ohm'd out several wires with the same color band, yet no luck identifying the feed wire. I've sent a note to service@alliancerv.com hoping they can shed some light.

Not a solution but some folks use running light power for the camera. No need to remember to turn on the switch (that doesn't exist for you anyway). Of course you do need to turn on your running lights.😉

Yep....never used my camera switch. Went directly to RV's marker lights for my 12v power source to camera.

Thanks for the feedback. Agree powering the camera from the marker lights is a better solution, likely easier fix too.

Ditto, with a photocell too.
My rear camera was a Ram OEM wired model so I mounted it below the rear window and not up high. I used this CableClam on the original camera power access point for flag light power.
I highly suggest everyone — whether they use the camera port or not — to seal it up. The dust cap on my unit was held in place by nothing but a tiny bit of friction.
