It is a trade off. I have free 6x6 scrap timbers that will work just as well as the fabricated buckets. Attaching with magnets is an improvement over my wood blocks. Attaching with bungees and the plot thickens more to do , more to set up ,more to put away, more to keep track of, more to store.
Yes it's all a trade off. At this point in my camping convenience is a huge positive factor, increase in workload is a deal breaking negative factor.
For me to purchase a "bucket" it must be a improvement over my 6x6 blocks" Magnets are an improvement, bungee cords not so much.
Used to use 6x6's. Used two 6x6x12 screwed together to make a nice platform. OMG! Hauling those around was a chore! I went with the Anderson's. Haven't ran into any cracking problems but guess it is possible. I really asked the question as I saw buckets under snap pads. Now that just didn't make any sense so that prompted the question. 6x6's are a no go for me. Space and weight limited. Getting into boondocking later might cause me to change me mind!
Happy Glamping!!!

I think the buckets are a decent product. The failure happens over time not right away. Those that use them on loose terrain with heavy trailers are experiencing the most problems They are being replaced under warranty without question.
Nevertheless I only want them if they are an improvement.
This thread started with raising the rear jacks, and drifted into buckets. I learned a bit about both topics as the thread expanded...good drift!
