New 2027 Delta 262RB owners

Hello All,
My wife and I just placed an order for a 2027 Delta 262RB, our entry into the Alliance family after a good bit of research and more than a few walkthroughs. We're entering early retirement, and the timing lines up well: we have a daughter and three grandchildren in Alabama and a son and four grandchildren in eastern North Carolina, so a fair share of our miles will be spent running between the two. The rest, we hope, will be quiet weekends somewhere well away from all of it.

I'll be towing with a half-ton, and I'm still sorting out hitch and setup details, so I expect to spend more time reading than posting at first. I'm the type who likes to understand how things work before I need them to, so if you've owned a Delta for a while, I'd welcome anything you've learned the hard way. Glad to be here.

Congrats. Beware of your weight. A 8k GVW trailer is a lot for a 1/2 ton truck. Be sure you know and understand your vehicle's/combo's towing parameters.

If you Haven’t been to Desoto State Park and its National Park counterpart, be sure to make time. It is just beautiful!

Congratulations on the rig and your early retirement.

Every rig has problems. Some big, some small. It does not matter if it’s brand A or Z. We’re in our third year of RVing now. I can tell you that the key to reducing problems is not just maintenance, but also inspection. Presume something may fail. Learn the systems and carry tools and parts that commonly fail.

I hope you love it as much as we do.

Oh yeah. Some upgrades are worth the money.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase!
As Lantley stated, spending sometime investigate your towing numbers to be sure your are comfortable with your combination.
Don’t forget, to take into consideration all of the gear and supplies that will be added to the truck and trailer.
Additionally, don’t forget the entire family riding inside the truck also has to be factored into the numbers.

Been to Desoto several times in the past and love it. On the list for a late fall long weekend.

Congratulations on your purchase. We are also new to this forum and own a 2024 Delta 262RB. Initially I pulled this camper with 2022 Ford F-150, 5.0 motor, 1,888lbs. payload, 3.31 axle gearing and short bed. We pretty much travel the East Coast from New. Hampshire to Georgia. Although I was able to keep my towing numbers within limits and the truck appeared to pulll it with ease, the problems I had was trailer sway ( I keep my speed between 60 and 65 mph). I'm sure the short bed contributed to this. This camper far outweighs the truck and once in a while stopping became a problem. I'm not saying the 1/2 ton won't pull this camper but I moved up to a Ford F-250 and I am no longer strangling my steering wheel. Enjoy your new Alliance Delta, we love ours and may you have many great trips.

Welcome. I have a 262RB it's a been a great trailer with only minor issues and lots of mods. As mentioned above, this trailer is on the edge of 1/2ton capability with both length and weight. While the numbers may look good, safety and confidence will be compromised.

We'll be overlapping in a manner, not going as far north but ranging further south.

I'm curious what WDH you had on the F150?

The same question asked of @monterey230, what WDH were you using on your 1/2 ton?

I was using the Blue Ox Sway Pro and it did it's job but in the mountains, the camper would still sway a bit so I decided to bite the bullet and bought the ProPride no sway hitch and we just got back from Savannah, Georgia and I am happy to say this hitch lived up to it's reputation. It is very expensive but it gave me peace of mind.
