Good Morning, we are brand new to the camper scene, just got our 292RL, no trips yet. I was wondering why we have a macerator under our kitchen sink? More importantly, why everytime we use the sink, we have to activate that to drain or just let water flow into drain? Is there an obstacle u der the camper that the pipe has to go over in order to need a pump? Please advise, thank you

2024 5th wheel alliance. Kitchen sink has a switch to drain it and it doesn't work. How do I drain the sink?
I have a 2025 Delta 292 RL. But I also have the macerator pump under the kitchen sink. The reason for this is because the kitchen sink is behind on one side of the axle than where the gray tank is and they can’t get a properly pitch for the drain line to the gray tank because the gray tank is on the other side of the axle so they put a macerator pump in the middle and that macerator pump will drain the sink and pump it into the gray tank.
My thoughts were to be if your switch doesn’t activate the pump then put the stopper in your sink and a bucket under your sink to catch the water. Undo the P-trap from under the sink. Let that drain into the bucket and then pull the stopper from the sink and let that drain into the bucket and then you can dump the bucket.
Is there a reason it would blow fuses?
We have experienced blown fuses every now and then and it’s aggravating. Especially when you have no other way to drain the sink!
Are you just draining sink water or is there other debris, like food, etc? Even though it is a macerator, it does not work like a home disposal. If that’s the case, it could be drawing too much current trying to chop food pieces.
I believe Alliance may have underrated the fusing because it is more like a pump than a true macerator.
Loose wiring could also cause it but you would have noticed that with intermittent operation.
I don’t know if anything else shares that same fused circuit and if that may be a factor. We have only had ours out twice so far since purchasing and haven’t had any problems blowing fuses (2 weeks total).
It shouldn’t blow fuses bet often though. I would contact warranty dept.

I agree with your comments and We do not put food in the sink. I have contacted service but no reply yet. I’m thinking the fuse is under rated also but unless the wiring is suitable to handle 25 to 30 amps, we won’t be able to increase the fuse size.. I will post a reply once I hear from service. Thanks.
I have a 2024 alliance 37MBR. My Macerator pump didn't work very well, or maybe not at all. Talked to the facotry rep and they rtold me to look for a kinked hose. Sure enough I had one. I moved the macerator pump to a new location, where the hose could line up straight. After I puit every thing back together I tried the pump and it worked great.
