Loud Noise like something dropped

FWIW - I spent 15 min or so on phone w rep from lippert, and he also suggested checking the torque on the jack bolts. I know, the mfr should be doing it right at build. Uh, they can't get trim straight/securely fastened, etc, etc. Anyway, I did back off bolts (one at a time!) and torqued each back to the 53-64 lb/ft per Lippert. (I went w 64.) Got the front two all checked out w not much drama. The middle jack on co-pilot side will require a breaker bar. Could not get loose w my 12" lg 1/2in ratchet. So am going to assume some of the jacks were a TAD over-torqued.

Turns out they have experienced creaking during thermal changes, due to the jack fixtures being aluminum, and expansion differential between it and the steel frame. We were hearing more of the cracking/popping in morning and evening. So may have some merit.

BUT - will also add stiction fluid in once I get my mitts on some.

My noises from start of thread went away. But now we hear at night noises under bed and I think it seems to come from hydraulic pump area. Sort of light popping sounds. Just started in last 2 weeks. Only in front camper area and after sun sets. Could that be the stiction? We traveled 6000 miles and did not do it until we got back to Texas.

Hello folks, it sure seems to fit the description of stiction based on how you have described it.
You can replace a quart or two of your hydraulic fluid with an approved specialty oil to resolve your issue if stiction is the root cause.

Thanks Bryan. I heard it last night in middle of night but not as loud as earlier. Maybe it has been doing during day and just haven’t noticed? We are on 3rd week at this campground and did not hear it at previous campground during same amount of time. When I opened compartment it almost sounded like it was coming from renogy like switch tripping.

My door has been messed up since we bought and waiting on warranty approval but it works better with striker plate off . Will hardly close with striker plate on.
We went through 4 doors under warranty due to bent frames. Our original door opened up uncommanded on the highway 2x! That striker plate placement is a PITA to say the least. Just my .02 -- Bill

Alliance warranted our door and we had it replaced when we got back to Texas. New door has more screws in frame and friction hinges have been smooth since. Also we had creaking in front of door when stepping there but went away after new door installed. It was like frame was not lined up before. But then window leaked on new door but I was able to push frame around window and lower part snapped in 2 clicks on bottom window area. Will find out if that fixed it when we get good rainstorm.

No worries, it could be anything I guess, it will take some detective work to track it down for sure.
It could be normal expansion and contraction due to temperature swings day vs night. The thermal growth and shrinkage can cause stiction issues on the jack system as well and I often hear stiction described like you did in your original post.(day vs night). You might check your jack mount bolts as well for proper torque.
As I recall popping complaints surfaced last year in the cooler months and complaints stopped during the warmer months. Only way to know for sure is some good old detective work and a notebook to keep track of the conditions when you hear it. You could try the speciality oil if it annoys you enough😂

I will probably auto level again to see if it helps if it has been settling. Walking around seems to cause it too.

The fact that it happens when you are walking around as well, sure points to stiction in my mind. The jack or jacks settle a little each time and cause the noise. The good news is that the oil won’t hurt anything and is approved by Lippert.
