Looks like air to me as well....criminal if it is gas.....Way to small for a proper gas connection and there is no shut off valve.....

100% Air.....propane connection would have an on/off valve as well.

As others have said, it is quick connect for your DC compressor on the other side. The same fitting is in the compressor box for the door side.

Fun fact, it is unregulated so if you want to run air tools (nailer, crown stapler, etc.) off of it, you need to add in a regulator in the PTC poly line or they make in-line quick connect ones for like $20 dollar bucks.
