Leveling System Hitch Height

After bringing my 340 RL out of storage mi hitch height isn't working whenever i hit hitch height the system tries to connect but comes back unavailable. I did have the battery disconnected for a period of time not sure what to check next, I am able to manually adjust to hook up, any help would be appropriated.

Are you saying it didn't remember the hitch height after having disconnected the battery? I think that would be expected.
Admittedly I don't have much experience with that feature since the auto leveling bags on my truck means it's at a different height when I re-hitch unless I remember to dump them before un-hitching and re-hitching.
Also if auto-level was started nose-low it will not remember where it was when you pulled out from under it. Must be started nose-high.

IMHO, George is right on the money, the “Auto” features must be started from the nose high position.
Give it a try next time you unhook. If the auto level works, I would think the auto hitch should work as well.
If it still doesn’t work, I would recommend that you manually level the system and then go thru the calibration process and retest it.

I never end up using the auto hitch feature because the few times I tried it, it didn't bring the pin to the correct height anyways. Probably because I didn't start autolevel with the nose high. I'd rather just hit auto level at whatever height it is at when I unhook than worry about if its nose high to start or not so that it will go back to the same height to reconnect. To each their own I guess.

Auto level is a great feature however I have found it will raise hitch higher to return to hitching height however it will not lower hitch to return to hitch height.
So once the of auto leveling process is complete and the hitch (front of RV) ends up higher than hitching height. The system will not lower the front of the RV to return hitch height when you are trying to re-hitch to depart.
However when the auto level is complete and the front of RV is lower than the un hitching height. The system will raise front of the rv to hitching height for departure.
In most cases when I unhitch and the auto level sequence is complete the front of the Rv is lower than my un hitching height.
In this case the auto hitch feature works as designed and raises my hitch to the original unhitching height.

I would agree with Lantley’s post. Personally, we have never been in situation where we had to lower to rehitch.
We have alway had to raise the nose to rehitch and the auto hitch feature has worked flawlessly for us.

It doesn't happen often. However there is a campground I go to with pull thru sites that slope downhill as you pull in.
The site is not very level. I stack a 6x6 block and a 4x6 beneath the front jack legs to achieve level.
Yes it's a pain in the butt! But it's a decent place otherwise.
I came to learn at this site that the leveling system will not lower the nose to return to hitch height.
But you are correct this nose high scenario does not happen often.
Most will never encounter this situation or they are smart enough to choose better campgrounds and avoid it.. LOL
I encountered the Excessive angle error at this campground due to the drastic slope of the sites.

I find that hitch height always needs a slight adjustment anyway, since I carry a load of wood usually. I try lowering bed first in most instances, but it always requires a manual adjustment on the trailer side. Just part of the process.
