Well, we are finally going to hit the road with our new 310RL. As I posted back in late October, early November, we got a great deal on a new, 2025, 310RL but we knew when we bought it that due to family commitments, it would be late January before we'd actually get to take it on the road.
I'm happy to say, that day arrives next week, on the 16th. Our first road trip will be a short 3 hour drive from our house to Lake Bistineau State Park in Louisiana and we will be there for 5 nights. We will be joined by two other couples and we are all looking forward to the trip.
None of us in the group have ever been there before. I just used RV LIFE TRIP WIZARD, searched state parks within a 3 hour drive of home, and then started watching YouTube videos on the various parks that appeared as options. I figured if we are going to camp in Louisiana, it would be best to do it in the late fall through early spring so as to beat the mosquitos.
Part of my planning process is to put the truck and rv on the scales, so I have a stop planned along the way to do just that.
For a cool excursion day, we're going to head to Gibsland, LA and visit the Bonnie & Clyde museum, then on to the place on LA154 where they were taken out by the Texas Rangers.
