Jammed In Slide

2026 340RL with 10k miles on it. Bedroom BAL Exact slide is jammed in. Fwd side ok but rear locked in place. Both motors operate when all switches are energized (fwd&rev). Rear chain/cables do not move when motor activated. Determined either rear motor output shaft sheared or gearbox failed. Main concern is that the motor/gearbox assembly cannot be replaced with the slide in. And that sucker is jammed in tight against the frame wall. Slide cannot be pushed out and the manual extension method doesn't work due to bad gearbox. Stuck in Sparks, NV and using Wal-Mart for clothing as 340rl members know, with slide in there's no access to bedroom. The saga continues.

Sorry your having issues!
Here is what I would do.
1. Loosen both the top and bottom cables on the rear side and disconnect them from the slide brackets. Try to push on it , that side should free up.
2. Next, it would be a judgement call, either operate the working side while pushing on the non working side trying to help the box go out square. OR perform a crab walk procedure, meaning push the bad side out a couple of inches, then operate the working side to square up and alternate back and forth until the slide is about half way out so the jams can be removed and motors replaced with the upgraded kit.

Maybe you can you can lift bed up and it will give you access to drawers. We have had to do this before fixing slide motors on our 310. Pain in rear to crawl across bed to get to closet. Slept with slide in for about a week both times. Might as well replace both at same time as other will surely go out.our other motor went out 3 months later. Unfortunately we only had old model motors. If nothing else get both motor kits and you will have when other goes out.

Not possbile with a 340RL....the closet closes off ALL access to bedroom, once the slide is in.
