Inverter generator options

We have the paradigm 310rl and is prepped for an Onan generator but we would like to purchase a smaller, portable, quieter inverter generator. Can we convert the plug that is there for an Onan generator?

Since you are thinking portable, why not just use the power cord for the RV and plug into generator?

Can do that but was hoping there might be a way to hard wire a more affordable inverter generator.

The built in generator will be hardwired to your distribution panel via a Transfer Switch (that switches between shore and generator). Unless your portable generator supports hardwired connections vs just plugs I doubt this will work.
