Hot water tank

Hi
I am purchasing an alliance paradigm 382RK. I am used of having hot water on demand. This unit does not have that. Does anybody run out of hot water? I do take long showers.
This will be in Washington state.
Should I have a hot water on the demand tank installed?
Thank you
Tammy

I prefer the water tank. I have had both and feel water tank is more reliable and easyer to winterize. I my opinion. Some may disagree? You have gas and electricity to heat the tank. Gets hot fast. IMHO Again.🎩

How long is a "long shower"? We were leaving a site once, and wanted more water in the grey tank, so I decided I'd shower until the hot water was gone... Well, I stood in there for about 10 mins and finally gave up. It will last a long time for 1-2 people. Now, if you have a family of 4-5...that is a different story.

Tammy,,,many opinions on this,,,IMHO,,,,tankless will serve you well if your camping style is full hookups,,,if you off grid or boon dock then would consider tank. We have live on Our property, w full hookups, have a 382RK,,,& had a 38’ tow behind Sporttrek touring,,,our 1 st tankless,,,for going on 6 years. Not the normal camping trailer experience,,,but the lag a tankless needs,,, If you are depending on your tank storage capacities,,,is a NO GO,,,for many!
We have a stackable washer & dryer, the tankless has a brief lag in our Kitchen (a minute or so) ,,, ,then the hot water is limitless. We have camped extensively over the years,,,off grid,,,boon docking,,,full hookups,,w tank heaters. We are now both retired full time & snow bird w a smaller tow behind But not much off grid or boondocking now.
Momma Bear & I love our tankless setup in our situation. She would never return to the tank system,,so we had a tankless added to our 382 RK When we bought it in a distress sale situation 3 years ago. We each also love long showers but it all depends, in our experience, on your camping style!

Congratulations & Welcome to the forum from Oregon! Wishing you many memorable adventures & safe travels! Good forum,,,knowledgeable, experienced,,helpful members! Believe you are making a good choice with Alliance! Enjoy 👍🌞🍀!!!

I take about a 10 minute shower. It’s just my husband and myself and we will be in Washington for about six months and then back to Florida. I’m not sure if the colder weather has anything to do with heating up the water.

Actually, a tank would be better in a colder enviroment. Depending on where you are in Washington, it will be a very mild winter West of mountains (like Seattle area) or some snow/cold times East of mountains. (like Spokane)

Good question,,,Agree w Jim,,,especially if you move campsites,,we live in Cascade foothills about 1,500’ in Oregon, but we are stationary,,,we have no issues but have insulated skirting,,,& freeze protected, under trailer inside skirting, water route to manifold,, & have no problems,,,Washington Cascades are higher elevations so lower winter temps,,central & eastern Washington areas are also colder & so believe a tank is your best bet,,,👍🍀
