Honda 2000i watt generator use

We recently purchased an Alliance Avenue 23ML and wanted to use our Honda 2000i watt generator. In a pinch, could I use this generator with my 50 amp power cord and transitions (i.e., 50 amp to 30 amp to 15 amp conversion plugs) to power my RV? Would it have enough power to run the Furrion Chill Cube 18000 BTU AC or the Furrion 8,500 BTU in the bedroom? Thanks for any information!

It would be a good idea to install soft starts on your A/C units if trying to run them off a small generator.
18K BTU's will likely be too much for a 2000 watt genset. But 8500 BTU's should be doable.

I agree with Lantley on the soft starts in this application. As far as if the Honda is capable, I would recommend finding the tag for the AC that you would like to run and use ohms law to determine if you have the capacity. The tag will provide you the numbers you need to do the math.
For example, if your Honda is rated at 2000 watts and 120 volts, 2000 divided by 120 would be a little over 16 amps.
The soft start will help with the in rush at compressor start up.

Thanks Lantley and Bryan for the feedback. I agree that the 8500 BTU should be okay based on past favorable experience with our Lance 1985 and 10,500 BTU AC. The Furrion 18.5K BTU AC is a variable, soft start, so I'm thinking it's worth a try. Worst-case scenario, the breaker on the generator goes?
