Help With First Purchase

Hello,
First post and seeking feedback.

Spouse and I are seriously considering our first RV purchase. We have done a lot of research and really like the Alliance ML206. It checks off every box for us. ML226 is very appealing too for us.

Our use case will mostly be drive 400ish miles one way, stay for a week or two, head back home. We will be able to keep the trailer in an enclosed garage when not in use. We will always camp at full hook-ups, no boon docking. This is not a full-time live in purchase. Some weekend trips, but mostly 1-2 week stints throughout the year.

With that said, for those of you that own an Alliance (regardless of model), can you tell me about your experience with the quality of the product? Have you experienced issues and if so, how was working with customer service? Has the Alliance brand met your expectations or disappointed you? Would you buy another one?

We really want a quality trailer that we can safely and confidently travel all around in. We’ve researched other brands like Lance, Oliver, Casita, Airstream, Ember and the family of Forest River brands, but we always come back to Alliance.

I thank you for any information you can share.

Hello and welcome. We have been living in our paradigm 3 years now. We have had problems and still have problems. However Alliance has worked with mobile techs when under original warranty and sent parts to different campgrounds we stayed at. Customer services has responded fairly promptly when emailed about problem. I don’t know if I would get Alliance again but I don’t think any Rv manufacturer is going to be perfect. Number one thing is to get Rv inspected before signing papers. Pay for inspector or use Oregon camper pdi inspection attachment on this forum. Someone once told me there are 2 kinds of campers. Those that leak and those that are going to leak.

Good mornin from Oregon!
Agree with Fishnatic,,,have owned several brands over the years,,, after a long & thorough search,,,settled on Alliance. Shopped ,,,touched existing owners,,,Each of our final 3 mfgrs & models,,,new & old,,,,lurked on those owner forums,,,,& found Alliance walks their talk,,,will help with issues,,, clarify & motivate dealer lag issues,,,the few issues we have encountered have been handled quickly & left us completely satisfied. Would happily buy an Alliance again if the need arose.
Believe you are making an excellent choice & STRONGLY recommend you perform an extensive PDI (pre delivery inspection-forum member Oregon Camper offers a very good one for use on his posts). It is WELL worth the time & effort to do that prior to finalizing your purchase. Keeps mfgr., dealer and customer relationships intact & catches a lot of the nuisance ISSUES & system functions questions discussed, remedied &/or repaired prior to driving off the lot! Good luck in your ! Am certain other members will give you their advise and input as well! selection,,,good luck with your decision. 🌞👍🍀

Agree with Fishfnatic and Jwtsg,
All RVs will have issues but it is how the manufacturer supports you is the key. Alliance has been awesome. We had a goal to never take the RV back to the dealer after purchase, knock on wood and with Alliance's help we are in almost 3 years and still meeting that goal.

Good luck,

Alliance does a good job on building their rigs. Honestly, it seems like they might be improving a bit. Like the others have said, they all have problems. I actually appreciate the sales manager on the first rig we bought. He told us if you think you are going to buy this RV, or any RV, and it is going to problem free, you're kidding yourself. That was before we signed anything. That said, it was a Grand Design and the only thing we had go wrong on that rig was a door lock that failed. However, it took an Act of Congress to get the warranty replacement. We have only had fit and finish issues with Alliance. Though Alliance's customer service model needs just a skosh more refinement, just night and day difference from others. Very much a "Yes, we can do that." attitude.

Best of luck on the purchase! For us, we wish we would have started years before we did. It's just so much fun, relaxing, and have made friends with wonderful people along the way.

I had three Jayce units. All three had their issues and I had extended warranty and a great family owned dealer. Was curious about Alliance and bought an Avenue because the flour plan was great. It’s had a couple minor issues I fixed myself. I did have a fiberglass crack by the slide. Alliance invited me to factory service center to fix. They also did a checklist inspection I was there. Jayce would not have invited me to the factory for a repair.

Thanks for the feedback.
We ended up purchasing a 2025 ML206.
We had a third-party conduct a pre-inspection report prior to delivery and the findings were extremely minor.

We pulled her to storage this past weekend and have our first trip scheduled end of month.

The trip from dealer to storage was about a two hour drive, mostly all in rain. The rear observation camera we had the dealer install was great until the rain (maybe humidity too) caused the view to become too distorted. However, prior to raining, the view was crystal clear and I can't imagine not having one. We also had the dealer add a Blue Ox distribution hitch prior to delivery. We pulled it with our 2021 Tundra with ease.

I had purchased some CIPA extended mirrors for the Tundra. They worked ok, not great. Would prefer some real tow mirrors in the future.

Prior to purchase I emailed Alliance support a few questions on different occasions, and each time they were quick to respond with help or answers. That was appreciated.

A note for any other reader doing research whether the Alliance brand or other regarding pre-inspection report. I paid around $850 for a third-party inspection - it was worth every dime. He checked and tested absolutely everything in the TT and then provided a 100 page detailed report. It really put our minds at ease.
