Cut down door and glass and bored one hinge hole. Voila. I know covered switches looked nice but for me not practical

Looking to do this as well. It looks like you mitered the stiles and upper rail to cut the length. Did you have any difficulty trimming the glass insert down with the film on the back or did you score the film before the glass?
