Good riddance fireplace drawer

Work in progress. Televator to raise and lower tv. Will make a new solid surface top that runs from the range to the left wall so there will be a large counter surface when the tv is down. Plenty of matching wood to make a face frame for the fireplace as well as a nook for the sound bar. Thinking I will have room for 8” deep top case cabinets behind tv if needed. I always hated that stupid drawer

Still a work in progress. The sound bar slot is not done but making progress. Look no more toe stubber under fireplace and it’s not so low you can’t reach the buttons . Lots of counter when done. That’s more important to me than the drawer I never really used

I ended up not using the swivel part and using the mount that came with the Rv. It was a lot easier achieving the lower height needed. The upper height is plenty high. My point is the non swivel lift is less $$ and can be found here:

There is also a company called "VIVO" on Amazon. They sell just the lifting components for sit/stand desks. I have purchased 2 of them and put my own tops on them at the house. Quite affordable and I am considering putting one where my dining table is. It also doubles as a desk for my wife. I am glad to see the price come down on those TV lifts. They used to be ridiculous! Nice work!

Fabricated the top and finished the sound bar slot today. Just have to engineer the countertop plug to be attached to the lift. 😄

Thanks I appreciate that. Only bummer is I used all the fall off from removing the old stock set up and the wood is slighly darker than the other cabinets> It matches the trim and the window valances. I never really noticed the shading differeances before....
