Anyone else experienced ?

Generic zero gravity Ramp loud clunk/jam - random, when opening.. as if a spring or block/.. usually when its cold in the morning.. happened both mornings

no sign of any rocks/debris in the hinge gap.

going to take off the inside steel frame inspection ports and learn more of the mechanism.. has to be Spring assisted - akin to a garage door

I know mine never has closed and/or latched properly. Dealer couldn’t replicate, they say. When I got the unit, 2 of the three bottom door frame bolts on key side, were missing the nuts and third nut was hanging on by a couple threads, said bolts were protruding 1/4-1/2” as well. Other side, nuts were loose. Nature of rv industry. Nothing new.

Just experienced this exact thing on my last trip out. we drove 5 hours and when I went to pull the steps down it was like it was all bound up and it made a weird loud clunk noise and I thought I had broke it pulling it down? It also felt like the tension was different pulling it down? It Never happened after that And the steps are fine? Think it had to do with the position of that black metal cover that covers the arm on the key side of the door? Not sure but it was strainge?

After almost 2yrs on the road.. full time... only happened 3 or 4 times.. figured at first it might be a rock in the hinge area.. but it seems to be when its a cold morning.. removed all frame covers and springs look fine and balanced... the cover over the lock is for wiring only.. its an electric lock.. key completes a circuit which unlocks up top the stud fingers.
